Celine made a full course meal, peeling the tangelo as an appetizer, she went out to give her mum and auntie Jane some rush back into the kitchen, she also made chicken soup with herbs in it wanting to give it to the guy that was still unconscious
"I wonder who he is and what happened to him, did he have a family, will they be looking for him, his clothes seem like the ones worn at home so what happened, it rained so much last night and he showed up here, the river must have washed him here. wait that river comes from the mountains that connects to the highway that leads to the city" Celine began to wonder and overthink, as she baked a pie
Yes, there were two roads leading to the city from town, one is faster than the other and more dangerous, the mountain highway which is dangerous especially when it rains so people don't and won't pass by there even though it is faster
The second is a better choice although it is a longer root it is still safer than the mountain highway
"why are you staring into space?" Karen walks into the kitchen finding Celine space out "what are you thinking about?"
Mother I didn't notice when you came in, do you need more tangelo" Celine reply
"nothing, I just want to help out, oh, you are cooking chicken soup, humm, it smells good."
" Yes mother, I want to make some for you to eat " Celine says while evading her mother's eyes
" Celine you know you can tell me anything right " Karen comes closer to Celine with love and understanding shining in her eyes.
" well... the thing is I saved someone from the woods, he was dying so I had to do something, luckily Doc Alain was nearby so he helped t... too..." her voice got smaller as she saw Karen face changed
"You know outsiders are not allowed in without taking the proper channels at that." Karen says " we need to report it to the village head right now " she chassen
"but the guy is unconscious and we don't know where he came from or what his name is." Celine quickly replied
" he is a guy and an unknown man at that " oh no Celine" Karen says in distress
many people don't like her and they gossip about her day and night because she had a daughter but no husband showed up even after so many years, people often use her as a bad example to their children warning not to be like her who got pregnant for an unknown man but now her daughter has a strange man saved from the woods if people hear about it they won't wait to hear the whole story before another round of gossip ensure
"Oh, Celine... he is with Doc Alain right now, right? and who saw u guys bringing him into the village?" Karen asked.
" no one saw us, and Martin helped to carry him and he is at Doc Alain's house he is still getting treatment." Celine replies
" so only the three of you know about it ?"
" yes" with her head down Celine replied to her mother " I was planning to go there later in the day to see how he is doing and bring some soup for him..." Karen glares at her daughter" you are banned from leaving this house for a week"
" mother please I need to see how he is doing and ... at least let him wake up and he will leave, mother please " with a puppy eye Celine looked at mother pleading
" o... okay, let's go to Doc Alain's house together but we need to eat first and after he is conscious we will have to let him go, at least to town for a proper treatment. and you are still grounded "Karen says
They both sat down and ate their food, giving some to auntie Jane who had to go out for some business
After finishing their food in silence, Karen went into her room to take her purse she put it in a small bag while Celine went into the kitchen to pack the food and snacks in a warm container putting it into a basket. so they set off.

At Doc Alain's house.
After treating him for a while Doc Alain was tired he said " he will wake up after a while, he is quite lucky if he had hit is head harder than this and a little more to the left he will have died " nothing is conclusive yet until he wakes up. so I need to freshen up." while turning to go his way he ask Martin if he has any other business to do "
"not really, I just need to go see my grandma and give her lunch " Martin replied
" Alright finish cleaning him up and give him the medicine I told you earlier then you can go " Doc Alain says with mild irritation showing In his eyes. he hates anything that will disturb his peace especially when there is a man sleeping on his bed. " hump..." he walked away.
When Karen and Celine got to Doc Alain's house Martin just left for his grandma's house
Seeing them coming together Doc Alain conceals his irritation
"Karen good to see you, how are you feeling" He said to her
Karen rolling her eyes says " you don't have to cover up for her (Celine) I know about the guy so tell me how is he? is he awake now? and when are we to take him out of the village to town?.
"Is that food for me" Doc Alain says not meaning to ignore Karen but the aroma of the food is enticing, he couldn't resist.
"Well.. yes, it is and also soup for the guy, how is he?" Celine asked
"I'm so hungry let me eat something first " Doc Alain replied " we can talk after that , he happily ate his food after Celine served it.
