Ellie POV "You are honesty dreaming Dane" took Dane in a headlock,.. I fell.he fell. we laugh. I pushed up off Dane and held my hand out to help him up. I ran up behind Dusty and jumped onto his back. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he grabbed onto my thighs. I drapped my arms over his shoulders and rested my chin in the spot between his shoulder and neck "He says these nice things because even he knows eventually I'll be able to take out an Alpha" I laughed. "Don't push it Ellie, you haven't got your wolf yet" as he dropped me off his back. Dane came up next to me again and put an arm around my shoulder "He says that Ellie not to hurt your little girl feelings" Dane quickly jumping out the way just missing the elbow coming for his ribs. We walked further along the path to the river. It was warm and I was keen for a picnic and swim. "Where's Marlon?" "He'll meet us there with Ginger..." Dusty started I really liked Ginger she was so humble and caring, just a real gentle nature about her. She was Marlon's fated mate. The Moon Goddess allowed them to find each other 3 months ago on Ginger's 18th birthday. Marlon has been smitten ever since. I do find myself wondering what it feels like to find your mate. How long would it take? Do they really make you that happy? Or would it change me? "and.. umm..." he smirked Ugh. The Alpha groupies. Ginger had 3 friends that obsessed over Dustin. They got under my skin so much, I'm not sure what bothered me the most about them. Dusty was always polite towards them which made them think he could be their mate once they hit 18. Could you imagine one of them being Luna? Just awful. The pack would go into a combination of financial ruin and mockery. I dreaded them being there as it doesn't become about the fun, it becomes competition for his attention. I rolled my eyes and flicked my long auburn hair over my shoulder mimicking giggling, gushy girls "Oh Dusty sit next to us. Oh Dusty does this look good on me. Oh Dusty let me lick your feet" If Dustin was unattractive it may have eased all of the demand but unfortunately he wasn't. He had short dark hair, a strong sculpted face, he was tall with muscles that made tshirts always look too small. His eyes were probably the biggest lure though, deep blue oceans filled with kindness and laughter. Apart from the Lycans, we were incredible warriors thanks to the trainers we had. There was pride in education here as well, it didn't matter on status and rank, everyone had access to good schooling. Alpha Francis once told me "How can you see potential if you don't offer it opportunity" The speciality programs went to those with shined brightly though as warriors or healers. I spent mornings and evenings training in groups and independently. I had something to prove and was going to succeed in it gaining Beta. My mother and I lived away from the pack house though. She was a healer at the hospital, she needed a peaceful space away from her demanding job and pack members. Dustin was my bestfriend, don't get me wrong I would die for the other 2, but we have always been inseparable since the day we met. Dusty came over frequently to escape the demand for his attention, everyone knew he was to be future Alpha so the demand to be his friend or the eye of his affection was high. Life here was wonderful and I couldn't imagine anything else.
