Dustin POV

If you weren't looking you would catch just a flash of blue and hear the water break as legs hit it.

Ellie was fast and loved to razz everyone up by out running them. I couldn't wait to see her speed after her shift happens. She was fierce, stubborn and a force to be reckoned with when she wanted something, giving everything she has to achieve it. Her energy just motivated you to strive for greatness just to keep up with her

Hidden beneath all of that though was deep kindness to those that needed it. She doesn't let that show to everyone though so they don't mistake it for weakness.

Ellie and Dane have had a very long two year banter about who will get the Beta role. It was amping up the closer her birthday got.

I stood there warching her for a moment as the sun danced on her pale wet skin making the water droplets glisten. Her soft pink lips stretched in a contagious smile while her bright green eyes looked wild.

Dane was quckly in there after her as he launched deep splashes at her while she laughed.

"You're watching her again" Marlon came up behind me.

"Yeah watching what absolute idiots they are" I scoffed

Marlon clapped me on the back and walked back to Ginger.

He and Ginger were a good match, both just calming to be around. Marlon was always the ancient soul in the group, wise beyond his years. The Gamma role would be his if he wanted it.

I decided to join the other two in the river before Rachel, Annie and Jade arrived. They were intense and needy but until I found my mate it probably wasn't going to stop. I don't know where they get the idea that they would be capable Lunas, none of them do well at school and don't work for anything.

I have high expectations after watching Mum after all these years. She balanced out Dad and was a deep rooted support for the pack even without being a warrior. Surely I deserve someone who will balance me to keep this pack thriving.

The water was a nice escape from the warm rays beaming down from the sun. I ran up to Dane and tackled him into the water taking him from surprise. He came back up with his brown hair in his eyes "Hey! Looks like I'm friends with nothing but cheats"

"Always have to have your wits about you if you want the Beta spot" I said as I splashed him.

Ellie was losing it laughing. You couldn't help but laugh with her, it was infectious.

"You're next El" as I ran towards her in the waist deep water. The daring look on her face telling me she was calculating her move.

I grabbed her arm and pulled her up over my shoulder, ready to throw her in. She didn't put up much of a fight, maby she was just laughing too much.

Ellie had this light sweet scent about her which always smelt good. Didn't matter how sweaty she got in training, it just always lingered softly in the air around her.

I don't like to think about that we may find our mates one day and this will change. That he will be the one to breath in this uniquely beautiful Ellie scent or enjoy his days occupied by her.

I threw her in but she didn't come back up straight away. Within seconds I was under the water from something pulling my legs out.

I hit the river floor and opened my eyes. Ellie was swimming above me, her hair floated around us. I went to come up off the pebbled floor but she pushed her body onto mine grinning, causing me to hit the bottom again.

I could feel her body was brushing against mine with the flow of the water, she was so close to me. Taunting me that she had won.

As we locked eyes, I felt my whole body tense up and my c**k harden. I quickly swam out from underneath her to put distance between us hoping she didn't notice.

What the f**k? Am I fifteen with uncontrollable hormones again. A simple touch of skin sending me into a race to hide my embarrassment.

I turned to look at her and she smiled "Got to keep your wits about you if you want to make Alpha"

Thank f**k, she hadn't noticed.

I readjusted myself quickly before she swam back over, I kept her at arms length while the tense feeling left my body.

Eventually I had both her and Dane going for me now. It's worse when they decide to band together as they work well as a team. If I wasn't from a line of Alpha's, then I wouldn't stand a chance. This was why it was going to be hard to pick one as my Beta. I doubt I could make it a simple choice.
