Dustin POV

I couldn't sleep. I could hear Ellie taking long deep breaths though so she must be asleep. Her face looked peaceful and her lips were parted slightly. Those smooth plump lips that were always so enticing to look at, even when spilling out insults. She must have been feeling warm as she had half her body out of the covers. One of Ellie's legs was laying on top of the covers. She had incredible legs from all the training.

Her singlet wasn't much support as her breasts looked as though they were going to fall out. Her peaked n*pples could be seen slightly pressed into her top. I felt wrong roaming my eyes over her body without her knowledge.

I couldn't stop myself, I cupped her face in my hand and ran my thumb over her cheek.

She rolled closer to me while she slept. Her back was against my chest and her a*se almost sat in my lap perfectly, the stiffness becoming agonizingly restrained in my shorts.

We've spooned plenty of times, why is this any different?

"Kiss her" I could hear Mo whisper.

He also must have been worried to wake her as he only decided to chime in now.

I gave in.

I placed a light lingering kiss where her mate would eventually mark her. She made a small moan and I froze as she grinded herself against me.

"Is she awake Mo?"

"No her breathing is still steady and deep. Kiss her again., she's reacting to you. Ellie might wake up and want to fool around" Mo sleazily suggested.

He truly was a terrible wingman.

"No. I can't."

I squeezed her and slid my arm off her so I could slide out of her bed. Best to keep some distance until this passes.

Zelda walked through the door as I left Ellie's room.

"Hey Zelda. Everything went ok? Did the warrior make it?" I asked her

"Yeah, just, but he'll need some rest so his body can naturally heal. He should recover enough to go home in 24 hours. The wounds were deep" She answered sounding relieved

"That's great news he will pull through. How's Mum and Dad?"

"Alpha Francis was still at the hospital when I left and your mother went to the pack house to debrief others" Zelda replied as she walked into the kitchen, she looked exhausted.

Ellie looks just like Zelda but doesn't have quite the calm attributes. Zelda is a healer, one of the best, and you need a cool and calm head for it.

I lingered in the doorway, Zelda studied me for a moment. "Dusty, are you ok?"

"Yeah. Just a lot on my mind at the moment." I brushed off.

"Must be very hard finishing school, warrior training and Alpha training. I'm sure my darling isn't making it easy with her determination for Beta" She smiled.

I shrugged.

"You two have such a strong bond. Don't be afraid to tell her what you're thinking for fear of upsetting her. She'll always be there for you Dusty" Zelda comforted me

"Until she finds her mate" I looked down as it fell out my mouth

"Will you be ok if I head home? I need a run" I asked her

"Ofcourse, you go do what you need to do" She replied.

I walked to the front door and let myself out. I didn't bother taking off my clothes, I just let Mo free. We ran hard and fast.

This should keep him happy for a bit.

We found ourselves back at the river and dove in to cool off. The water helped soothe the tense muscles that had formed today..

Once my body reached a reasonable state of calm, I felt I could head home, shower and bed.
