“You all right?” “Something awful is about to happen,” Dorian replied. A loud crash erupted from behind Dorian’s carriage. The other carriage flipped into the air and tumbled along the mountain path. The rolling wreckage crashed into the mountainous wall, flipping one last time, before landing amidst the residue with a dusty thud. A wall of dust obscured the debris as its wheels spun. The horses thrown from the carriage limped away bleeding and frightened. Rin pulled the reins and slid the first carriage to a stop. “My word,” he murmured. Dorian and Bartas sprinted from their carriage to help the others while Lucas stayed behind. The Baron’s troops approached from the path below. “We have to hurry. They’re coming,” Lucas urged. “We can’t leave them,” Dorian replied. “There’s no time.”
