Chapter 4

Heather's pov

I wake up and see that it's 6 am. I'm to tired to even get out of bed. I go to roll over to continue my slumber until I get a mind link.

"I need you at the pack house straight away" Alpha Grey demands.

He sounds concerned this morning. Nonetheless, I get up and walk over still rubbing my eyes. It's only when I enter the packhouse and sit at the table with Alpha Grey do I realise I'm still in my pajamas.

Alpha Greys Pov

I see Heather walk in and am puzzled as to why she's in her pajamas and at the moment I see her realise that she is in fact still in her pajamas but she seems to tired to really care.

I congratulate her on her training yesterday and let her know there were no attacks last night.

She smiles.

I also tell her our guests will be arriving around noon.

Just then I see her hold up a coffee cup as if she mindlinked someone in the kitchen that she needed her morning coffee. She takes a sip and then looks at me and asks "Can we have training this morning instead of late afternoon like yesterday?" I don't understand her reasoning but I agree and she smiles "Thank God, everyone was so exhausted yesterday we all nearly used our dinner as pillows, I think Brayden did at some point"

I laugh at her response and she starts laughing before getting more coffee.

I only saw her take a sip so I don't see why she needs more until I see that her cup is in fact empty.

Heather's pov

I see Alpha Greys face when I get a second cup of coffee poured. I guess he didn't notice my 'sip' was actually a skull and my cup was actually empty when I put it back down. I ask the kitchen staff to prepare pancakes with coffee ready for when I wake everyone up. if I need extra coffee so will they.

I excuse myself from the table as I go to wake up Brayden and get dressed. I hear Brayden go for a shower and told him they were making pancakes. His favourite. I told him to get dressed into his training clothes as training will be done after breakfast instead of tonight and I hear his sigh of relief as I walk out the door. Considering we are expecting company I dress more like a warrior ready to fight instead of a warrior ready for bed. I have on my short black training pants or as Brayden calls it 'booty shorts' and my favourite purple cropped training bra and of course my usual black and white sneakers.

I make my rounds waking everyone and telling them breakfast will be ready in a few minutes and to get dressed because training will be afterwards. I then walk back home to make sure my brother hasn't fallen asleep and possibly drowned in the bath. As I'm about to open the door he walks out and we walk to the pack house together and see that everyone is already there. I find my seat from earlier empty and a plate of pancakes with butter melting and maple syrup dripping off the sides and a cappuccino. The sight is mouthwatering.

The pack house is filled with chatter and the unappealing sight of my brother acting like a vacuum and I don't even think chewing his pancakes as he swallows. He's got his mouthful and spitting chunks everywhere when asking for more. If I didn't already finish my plate I would've lost my appetite.

It's close to 10 when everyone has finished eating and everyone is talking away.

"Aren't we going to start training now?" my brother asks as if I forgot about training.

"I'm going to let everyone's food settle first otherwise breakfast would've been pointless and I'm not having you throw up on me" I say with a little chuckle.

Around 11 I get up and announce training is about to start and everyone follows me out.

Training starts and Brayden and I are demonstrating that focus needs to be the first priority otherwise you can and will be taken down. Just as I have stated this and given a few demonstrations I see Alpha Grey walk out and cars pulling up. I advise the group to continue will mindlinking to Alpha Grey.

"did you want me to stop training?"

"no, continue with the training I'll let you know if you need to stop" Alpha Grey replies.

I end the mind link.

Just as Brayden and I continue you more demonstrations he stops and looks at the car door that just opened and at the moment I took his feet out from underneath him. He looks up at me shocked and confused and I return the confused look. I help him off the ground and tell everyone to take a few laps.

I ask Brayden what was wrong and he just looked at me blankly staring at me. I couldn't read his expression.

Brayden's Pov

Why did I eat so much knowing we were training afterwards I curse at myself.

My sister and I are giving demonstrations and see Alpha Grey walk out to the black SUVs coming down the path. I'm confused and Heather isn't. She pro ably already knows what's going on so I don't even bother. Then a door opens and I smell lavender and vanilla with maybe a hint of cinnamon and I keep looking and at that moment my sister knocks me onto the ground. She looks at me confused when I don't get up and I hear her tell the others to take a run. She helps me up and asks me what's wrong. I don't even know it's just something about the scent. I remember Alpha Grey telling up that you can tell who your mate is based on scent alone. I look at Heather and still don't tell her because I'm not even sure but I think I've met my mate.

Heather's pov

Something is wrong with Brayden. He would never let me put him on his ass and it was then I saw 4 Lycans, 3 male and 1 female and based on his face I'm going to assume that the female he has just recognised as his mate. I only make that assumption purely because I saw her sniff the air then look dead at my brother.

It was at that moment Alpha Grey mindlinked me.

"Time for training to end" he says

"I thought there was supposed to be 5, why is there only 4?" I ask

"The fifth will be here in a few short minutes, I need you and your brother in my office as soon as possible" he replies

He ends the mindlink.

Now I'm confused but I tell my brother we have to stop training and go straight to Alpha Greys office.

He looks confused and asked "why?"

"I don't know it's just what he said" I replied.

"that's a first" he mumbled in response.

When everyone returns from the run I tell them that Alpha Grey has requested that training be cancelled for today and they can go home and shower before dinner.
