Tingly Feeling

1179 Words
Rin's POV After leaving Roden enterprise to see if they heard any news from the Otsgine Group. My informant Ronnie who works closely with the Otsgine Group told me that I might get info from the group, but I guess not. I met Ronnie on one of my cases and things just went from there, so now he's kind of like the only friend I have in Alabama, even though he does some shady stuff he does it legally. Walking out of the doors I got this tingling feeling as if I was supposed to come here. It's hard to explain but I could say that about my gut feeling and about other weird things that's been happening around me. Lately that's all that's been going on is weird and suspicious incidents. As I was driving I was thinking of going back to the PD but changed my mind and decided to go home. Ever since I left Roden Enterprise I have this nagging feeling that I should turn back but I'm stopping myself because I'm not sure if I want to venture into whatever this feeling is, not too mention I don't want to add one more thing to my list of things to do. Arriving home I'm greeted by a letter in front of my door that has no name or address written. I pick up the letter and point it up to the sky since it's still day out I check to see if it's anything dangerous, I mean it's not like I don't get mail but to receive a letter with no mail address and no name on it not even mine is weird. I look at the letter as it's pointed to the sky and I don't see anything out of the ordinary just looks like paper inside. My house is located on the outskirts of the city in the middle of nowhere which some might think is not safe but I love the peace and quiet and I know that if someone was to come I could take care of myself. My house is a modern structure with wooden abstract, with wooden interior. Inside I have walls full of books and dark curtains covering the windows. I'll be honest I don't like light, when I say that I mean that I'm kind of like a vampire and prefer the dark even when it's day time outside and instead of opening the curtains to provide light I'll leave them closed. Which again might not be good in case someone was standing outside my windows and I wouldn't see but surprisingly I have good hearing and I think I would hear a pin drop if someone came in. I walk in side and set the letter on the kitchen island, instead of opening the letter I stare at it for a good second contemplating if I even want to open it. Something about the letter is telling me that I don't want to know what the contents are, that feeling is sort of compelling me not to even open it. And that's what I do I didn't open the letter that night. Not just because of that feeling that was coursing through me but I just didn't want any more problems for the day. So I leave the letter in a drawer in one of them empty rooms in my house. I leave it so that when I do want to open it then I'll have to actually put in the effort to look for it since I'll probably forgot where I put it. It's just at this moment I don't want to even look at it. Putting the letter aside I decided to go for my evening run on the trail behind my house, was the trail there already when I bought the house...yes it was...was I a little weirded out about a long ass trail behind the house in the middle of nowhere...yes. But what can you do. So almost everyday after work I go for a run to either clear my head or get my thoughts together. Because working in the career field that I do, it gets a bit too much at times and I need an outlet to clear everything. Whenever I run it feels as if I'm one with the forest and all around me, almost like I belong there in the forest instead of the city and with humanity. Funny as it sounds since I'm human and I don't like interacting with civilization. Crazy thing is that I was never into outdoorsy things when I was younger but that's was probably because of my s**t bag of a mother, but since moving here it feels just right. Walking outside and I see the sun is about to set in the horizon, I start jogging. When I said that it was weird that this trail was made here before I moved into the house, I can't tell you how weird it really is because it's not just one trail but multiple all in the same one. Like it has different paths every which way you go. So whenever I'm running I'm not taking the same path every time it's always different. Makes you wonder whoever the hell lived here before me must have some crazy sense of humor to make multiple paths on the same trail. I mean don't get me wrong it is weird but I kind of enjoy the complexity and the not original ness of it. If that's even a word, you'll come to find out throughout this story that for one; I say weird a lot, because my life is weird. And second is that my vocabulary is limited to none because I don't give two f***s. lol I should probably stop. By the end of this story, you'll be sick of me. Back to the run. I take a different path every time and at the end they all lead back into the same trail and back to the house. As I was jogging near the end of the path and onto the trail I heard a snap of something to my left a few feet away. I slow down and look to my left but I didn't see anything. I inch closer but I don't sense something is there or hear any more movement, when I reach where I heard the sound from I move the bush and still I don't see anything. Again weird, you would think that animal would pop out or something and give me the scares but no just nothing. This isn't the first something like this has happened but I always put past me because it doesn't seem that big of a deal since clearly if something wanted to hurt they would have done it by now. As there are alit of paths on this trail that lead deep into the forest and back to the house. I leave the bush and start jogging back to the house again, but I'm still thinking to myself...what made that sound?
