Chapter 1: Rebirth in Blood and Vengeance
Chapter 1: Rebirth in Blood and Vengeance
(Olivia's POV)
Two headlines dominated social media on what should have been my last day alive: "Blake pack Alpha heir and Frost pack heiress unite, a true fairy tale!" and "Tragic multi-car pileup on Silvertree Bridge, three dead and five injured!"
The cruel contrast wasn't lost on me as my consciousness faded in and out. I lay dying, my body broken beyond repair from the car accident.
With trembling fingers, I used my last strength to call Ethan Blake - my adoptive brother, my ex-boyfriend, the man I once loved with every fiber of my being.
"Hello." His voice came through, cold and distant.
When I couldn't respond, he grew impatient. "Olivia? Why aren't you speaking?"
My fingers loosened, too weak to hold on. The phone clattered to the ground beside me.
"Are you throwing a tantrum again?" His voice turned icy, misinterpreting my silence. "You should know throwing a fit before someone who doesn't love you is pointless."
The cruelty cut deeper than my physical wounds.
"If you come to the wedding and call Keira 'sister-in-law,' maybe you can come back home."
Home. The word echoed emptily in my mind. I knew I would never again belong to the Blake family.
As the call cut off, paramedics lifted me onto a stretcher. The world spun around me as they carried me into the waiting ambulance.
Memories flooded my fading mind as the vehicle raced forward. Years ago, I sat in a similar ambulance, helplessly watching my father Reed breathe his last after saving Ethan and his sister Mia from the car accident.
My father served in Blake pack Alpha, and he was driving Ethan and Mia that day when he had a car accident. He sacrificed himself to save Ethan and Mia.
After my father died, Blake pack Alpha adopted me as a show of kindness.
That day cost me everything, yet Ethan had sworn to protect me forever.
Now he prepared to marry another woman on their wedding day while I lay dying.
My injuries were critical. I could feel life ebbing away with each shallow breath.
Through blurred vision, I suddenly recognized a familiar face leaning over me - the doctor frantically working to save my life.
"It's you, Dr. Stone..." I murmured weakly.
Garrett Stone. The man who had once saved me from poisoning and humiliation after the Blake family discarded me like trash.
Even now, as my life flickered like a dying candle, it was still Garrett fighting desperately for my survival.
But exhaustion and despair weighed me down like anchors. I began to drift into welcoming darkness.
(Third person's POV)
Inside the emergency room, chaos reigned as doctors battled death itself.
Garrett Stone's legendary composure had shattered completely. The doctor renowned for his calm and skill now called out desperately, his eyes red with anguish.
"Olivia, don't sleep! Hold on, Olivia!"
The heart monitor flatlined into a chilling, endless beep. Garrett refused to give up.
"Chief Stone," pleaded an assistant doctor, "her injuries are too severe. Let her go peacefully."
But Garrett clung to her icy hand and continued with the defibrillator, sweat streaming down his face.
He unleashed a roar of grief and fury that silenced the entire room. "LIVE, DAMN IT!"
Elsewhere, at an opulent wedding venue, Ethan Blake lowered his head to kiss his new bride, Keira Frost.
Olivia's life ended in that moment.
As consciousness slipped away completely, she heard the voice of the Moon Goddess in her mind: "Little Wolf, you are special. I will give you another chance to go back to the past. This time you have to choose the right person. Good luck."
(Olivia's POV)
"Liv..."
A deep, intoxicated male voice murmured close to my ear. A large hand caressed from my waist up to my neck. Hot breath laced with venison wine fanned across my sensitive skin.
I trembled, my eyes snapping open to find myself in an unfamiliar hotel room.
How could I still be alive?
"Liv, I love you," the voice whispered again. Unmistakably Ethan's.
A jolt of clarity struck me like lightning. I hadn't died - I'd been reborn, transported back a year before my death.
This was the night of Ethan's engagement party with Keira Frost.
Painful memories of this very night surged back with brutal clarity. During the engagement celebration, Keira had handed me a glass of wine with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.
The wine was laced with drugs. Soon after drinking it, I felt dizzy and my heart palpitated wildly. I intended only to rest upstairs, away from prying eyes.
But the drug's potency overwhelmed me before I reached the elevator. A service staff member carried my unconscious body into this very guest room.
When I awoke that night, I found myself in Ethan's embrace, seemingly about to be violated.
Before I could even comprehend what was happening, Keira burst in with a crowd of onlookers, catching us "in the act." She branded me a wanton woman who seduced her own brother.
The Blake parents promptly shifted all blame onto me. Victor Blake even dragged me, bound and humiliated, before the Frost family elders.
He forced me to kneel and apologize. When I refused, they whipped me unconscious with a leather belt and expelled me from the Blake family altogether.
Mia Blake, pretending kindness, later introduced me to a job as an assistant to a popular actress. I discovered too late it was yet another trap - she secretly plotted to have me infected with AIDS through that contact.
The fatal car accident that ended my life might have been yet another Blake family scheme.
Every detail revealed their ruthless betrayal. Hatred erupted within me, fierce enough to burn away the lingering effects of the drug in my system.
This time, I vowed never to be their victim again.
I suppressed my rage and approached Ethan, who was clearly intoxicated yet still lucid enough to recognize me.
His eyes traced over my exquisite face - no bigger than his palm, with stunningly defined features that had once made him promise to cherish me forever.
His gaze softened as he whispered my name tenderly, "...Liv."
Hearing this intimate address, my lips curled into a bloodthirsty sneer.
"Ethan, were you just confessing to me?" I taunted coldly. "You love me?"
He tugged uncomfortably at his tie, his dark eyes fixed on me. His voice came out hoarse with desire and what seemed like sincerity.
"Liv, the one I have always wanted is you."
"Good!" I spat out sharply. "Very good!"
Without warning, I turned and snatched up my weapon - a common hair dryer from the cabinet.
I smashed it relentlessly against Ethan's skull with a series of sickening thuds. Dizzy and disoriented, he collapsed against the wall.
Swiftly, I coiled the cord around his neck, yanking it tight. I dragged him across the floor as he clawed uselessly at the wire biting into his throat.
The sensation of suffocation cleared Ethan's drunken haze, yet his desperate struggles only weakened him further.
Just as he was about to lose consciousness, I halted. I planted my stiletto heel firmly on his chest, bent low, and tapped his forehead menacingly with the hair dryer, enunciating each vicious syllable:
"Brother, do you still want me now?"
