*CARLY’S POV*

“Well, what would you like to know?” He asks with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes.

“Your sister said that you can’t bring me to your mom, why?” I ask him while raising an eyebrow at him.

He sighs and then closes his eyes.

“Because, she’ll turn you into a siren, like her.” He informs me.

I sit down next to him on his couch.

“Are they bad or something?” I asked him.

“Yeah, they are monsters, I mean, I am dangerous but these creatures’ rebel against the mermaids, they look to my mom as their supreme leader.” Alec informs me as a matter of fact.

I sighed and leaned back against the couch.

“Oh, I see, so are you like mixed?” I asked him.

He raises an eyebrow.

“Mixed? You mean like a hybrid?” He asks me.

“Yeah, like two different species, are you?” I asked him.

 I guess he doesn’t use the term mixed.

“Um, yeah, me and my siblings we are half siren half mermaid.” He tells me with a chuckle.

“Siblings, how many do you have?” I asked him.

“Three, I have an older sister and two twin younger ones.” He informs me.

I start to massage my temples at this next question I’m about to ask.

“How old are you?” I asked him with a sigh.

“221, and my older sister, the one you saw me with, is 245.” He tells me with a chuckle.

I put a hand over my mouth.

“But you still look young.” I say with a gasp.

He laughs at this.

The weirdo.

“Yeah, you should see my mom, she looks sixteen but she’s actually 354, also don’t tell her I just told you that.” He chuckles.

I rolled my eyes.

“So, how does this mate thing work?” I asked him with a sigh.

“Well, we get one mate for life, sometimes it takes a while, but it comes randomly, and the mate is sometimes a random person.” He tells me while standing up.

“Oh, so I have to live with you guys.” I say while frowning at this.

I live in Manhattan, New York, in the United States.

“Yeah, but listen to me, if you live somewhere else, we can relocate.” He tells me while standing up and walking up to me.

 I let out a sigh.

“It won’t matter, I’ll be in the ocean.” I sighed and then take a seat on his bed.

“You’re taking this surprisingly well.” He tells me while standing in front of me.

I put my hands over my face.

“To be honest, I have been through everything, especially crazy things.” I tell him letting out a really loud sigh this time.

He then grabs both of my hands and then looks at me.

“Tell me things about you.” He says while looking at me.

I sighed.

“It’s a pretty long story, I’ll tell you some other time.” I inform him while standing up and grabbing my cellphone.

“So, it’s a date then, tomorrow night?” Alec asks me.

I turn around and smile.

“It is.” I say trying not to blush.

“Well, what’s your name?” He asks me.

“Carly, now I am going to bed.” I chuckled and then get out of his hotel room.

*ALEC’S POV*

I shall see you tomorrow night Carly.

Sweet dreams.

I wake up the next day and then change into some shorts and a t-shirt, then grab my hotel room key and get out of my room.

As I am locking my door, I hear my mate in her room yelling at room service at what she wants for breakfast.

This makes me chuckle and then walk by her room and headed to the stairs.

Now it’s time to look into the murders.
