Molly's Part Molly suddenly opened her eyes, awakened by the voices that called out her name, she groaned as her eyes met the bright light that penetrated through the woods, hating the burning feeling it gave her, slowly she sat up on the ground where she found herself in the woods away from the bright light feeling her whole body ache. She glanced around her, wondering how she got to be here in the woods by this time of morning. She had slept last night in her bed back at the house she shared with her mum and dad, Mr and Mrs Margaret and Martin Jackson but then slowly her eyes rested on a dead goat lying in front of her. Molly signed and furrowed her brows at the sight of the dead goat she saw lying in front of her, recalling now how she had craved for blood last night that led her to be here. She had gone to her parents farm last night unable to bear her urge to have blood and had taken one of the goats they reared in their farm, and had ran into the woods with it in order not to wake anyone up. She stared furiously at the dead goat, hating herself for what she has done to it, especially since she also helped to take care of the animal, why would she crave for blood of all things? She asked inwardly, biting her lower lip and still staring furiously at the goat. This reminded her of her sixteenth birthday where she had first tasted blood, only that was the blood of one of their chickens. "Molly," she heard the voices calling out her name again drawing her out of her thought, followed by footsteps that walked towards her direction, she tried to pick herself up as she does not want anyone to see her here in the woods like this, after she recalled how they have stared at her on her sixteenth birthday when they found her in their farm with the dead chicken and blood spattered all over her body. Today is even worse, because she has more blood all over her as this was not a chicken but a goat, a big one at that, she groaned as she picked herself up still feeling her whole body ache, lifting the dead goat too and trying to erase traces of the goat's blood on the ground, knowing today is going to be worse than her sixteenth birthday if she was caught like this. Molly ran off immediately with the dead goat in her hand, farther into the woods, wondering how she got the energy to run in such high speed especially given the aches she still feels in her body, nevertheless, she hurriedly buried the goat as she could still here the voices and footsteps of the people she believed were searching for her, although she knew they are still far away and that she could hear them because of her ability to hear things from far away. This ability of hers was first discovered when she was sixteen years old among some others that kept her wondering if she is alright like every other normal kid in this town. Some of their neighbours have suggested to her parents to seek help as she may be possessed by evil spirits which she think was quite right because even she has wondered the same thing but after looking it up in some books she read about evil spirits, she found out that her case was different from one possessed with evil spirits. She had lived with the abilities she found herself to possess and had dismissed the idea that something was wrong with her since she didn't crave for blood after her sixteenth birthday where she had chicken blood, but last night was totally different from the experience of her sixteenth birthday and this is driving her insane. After she buried the dead goat, she made sure to keep the place looking normal as it was before she dug up the ground. Satisfied with her work she ran off again as she heard the voices and footsteps getting closer to her again. Molly quietly walked back to her room, undressed and hid the clothe which were stained with the dead goats blood and quickly took her bath, she needs to hurry up and go to school before her parents and the neighbours who went in search of her returned, she need to make it appear that she had woken up very early and had gone to school before anyone woke up from their sleep. A few minutes later, Molly was already on her way to school making sure that no one sees her, thanks to her abilities, she first of all listened whether she could hear any sound and looked afar off to see if their is anyone close by before making her move, she heaved a sigh of relief after making it to school and thankfully it was already time for lunch and she had no friends in school which will make it difficult for anyone to notice she was only coming to school, her concern now is to cover her tracks as only her class teacher would know because of the roll call which she marks every morning before she starts teaching. Molly walked swiftly into their class room, making sure she wasn't seen by anyone, knowing her class teacher, Miss Bridget wouldn't be their as she needs to mark her name too. She quickly marked her name and placed the book neatly back on her teacher's table and left the class room to sit on her favourite spot where she normally stayed when other kids had their lunch. "Molly," her class teacher, Miss Bridget called out to her, surprised to see her sitting in her spot in school, she did not see her earlier this morning and had told her parents she hadn't seen her when they called to find out if she was in school. "Yes, Miss Bridget," Molly replied, a little surprised to see her standing in front of her, she usually sensed people coming her way and can tell who it was by perceiving their scent but today was different, as she still feels very strange, worse than she had felt on her sixteenth birthday. "What time did you come to school, your parents called to ask if you were here but I told them you weren't here?" Miss Bridget asked Molly. "What?" Molly asked immediately, surprised that her parents already called the school. "I have been here all morning, Miss Bridget, are you sure you are alright?" Molly asked, keeping a straight face, and peering at her teacher whose brows lifted in surprise after hearing Molly speak, she had found her to be strange from the other kids in her class but she still tries to handle it given that she is her teacher and is supposed to understand her students. "Excuse me, Molly, but you weren't in class as at the time your parents called and I am quite sure I am only seeing you now," Miss Bridget told her, trying to sound cool. "Well, if you don't believe that I was in class earlier you can go and check your book, you called my name and I answered," Molly flashed her a smile and looked away, wishing to be left alone as she still needed to get control of her body. Miss Bridget furrowed her brows and walked away from her wondering if she was telling the truth or not, and the only way to find out is by going through the class record this morning, she walked into the classroom with the sound of her heels clicking away on the tiled floor, she took out the record book sitting on her desk and flipped the pages open only to find that she had marked Molly names earlier this morning. Molly smiled to herself from where she was seated when she heard Miss Bridget gasp in surprise, she had used her ability to listen as Miss Bridget walked back to their classroom, she knew she wanted to go and check out for herself if what she had told her was true. Molly smiled even further when she started hearing Miss Bridget on the phone talking to her parents, she apologized for telling them that Molly wasn't in school that morning. "How can you make such mistakes, Miss Bridget, you do not know how worried we were after you told us our daughter isn't in school, we practically searched for her everywhere in our neighbourhood this morning," Mrs Margaret, Molly's mum, scolded Miss Bridget over the phone. "I am so sorry about that, Mrs Margaret," Miss Bridget apologies again before hanging up. Molly smiled some more, feeling relieved that she sorted it out immediately, to save herself the embarrassment as she cannot afford for what happened to her on her sixteenth birthday to repeat itself again today being her eighteenth birthday, but then she needs to figure out a way to stop herself from feeling this way especially the craving for blood. Molly walked back home after school still feeling a little strange but was thankful that she had successfully handled the situation in school, now she has to play cool when she get home and explain to her parents that she only left early for school because she didn't want to wake them up given how tired they were yesterday after the so much work they had to do. Molly stopped by the farm house first to talk to her parents but didn't find them there which she found a little strange because they usually would be at the farm house at this hour. She went to find them in their room too after she entered the house but she didn't find them there either. She left their room wondering where they could have gone. She would go and ask a few of their neighbours she ran into on her way in and to ask the whereabouts of her parents, she said inwardly, but that would be after she had changed into something else and perhaps gotten rid of her clothes that was stained with so much blood in the morning which she had hidden properly in her room. "Did you kill our goat, Molly?" Molly's Mum, Mrs Margaret asked impatiently, immediately Molly stepped into her room, her eyes burning with rage, startling Molly who gasped immediately, pausing by her room door, when she found her parents sitting quietly in her room peering at her. "Mum, Dad," she muttered, quickly pulling herself together, taking a few steps closer to them but stopped abruptly again when her eyes rested on her blood stained clothes from her episode in the morning, wondering how her parents got to find it and why she did not smell their presents as she naturally would have done before or maybe she didn't pay attention, she said inwardly, lifting her gaze from the bloody clothes on the floor to peer at her parents faces, which looked rather terrifying to her. "What excuse can I possibly make of this now?" Molly asked inwardly again, lowering her eyes to her bloody clothes again that was lying on the floor, feeling rather angry now at her parents, for snooping around her room. "Can you explain this to us, Molly?" Mr Martin, her dad asked rather terrified, peering at his daughter's face, "Tell us what this means and why one of ours goats are missing, Molly? Did you kill it?" Her mum added, crossing her trembling arms under her breasts, still peering at her daughter's face. Mr Martin, Molly's Dad, moved a little closer to his wife, placing his arms around her shoulders to try and calm her down, but peering rather terrified too at his daughter, Molly, who stood still peering at her bloody clothes on the floor. They both knew that something wasn't right when they went to their farm house later in the morning after Molly's teacher called to tell them that Molly was already in school, and found one of their goats missing, especially when they found foot prints and a little trace of blood. Their minds went back to what had happened with Molly on her sixteenth birthday and decided to search in her room after searching around the farm house and a little into the woods again, only to find Molly's clothes with blood stains which were obviously from a goat. "Tell us, Molly, what happened to the goat, and how did your clothes get so much blood on it?" Molly's Dad asked rather calmly, still peering at his daughter, even though his arms were still around his wife's shoulders in a bid to try and calm her nerves and his as well. They have been very happy raising their daughter, Molly. She was a sweet loving child, even though they sometimes felt that she acts a little differently from other kids, they paid no attention and thought she was being herself. But after the incident that took place on her sixteenth birthday where they found her with one of their chickens, did they start thinking otherwise and as the days went by they found her acting more strange than usual, and this broke their hearts. "I do not know, Dad, Mum," Molly replied, pressing her lips together, suddenly feeling her blood boil when she shouldn't, "you shouldn't be snooping around my things," Molly snapped almost immediately, lifting her gaze at them as she suddenly began to feel the craving for blood again, getting her parents, Mr and Mrs Margaret and Martin Jackson more terrified as they didn't imagine her to react to them like this. "I told you, Martin, our daughter is possessed, this is not the daughter we raised," Mrs Margaret broke off, in a teary tone, slightly shaking her head, her gaze on Molly. Molly furrowed her brows at her Mum immediately after she heard her say that she was possessed, and turned towards her door, feeling her body reacting the way it had done earlier that morning when she craved for blood. "Molly, are you alright?" Her dad, Mr Martin asked immediately, taking a step towards Molly, seeing how she suddenly turned away from them, feeling that something is wrong with her. "Molly," Mr Martin rushed towards his daughter to try and stop her from leaving the room when she took a few steps to leave the room, but Molly threw her school bag off her back immediately and swiftly too, sensing her Dad's approaching her and before he could reach her, she turned around immediately, stretching out her hands and grabbed her Dad, Mr Martin by the neck, glaring at him in a rather strange manner, the same way had done with the goat she killed earlier. "Molly…" her mum, Mrs Margaret screamed, lifting her hands to cover her lips immediately afterwards, terrified by the sight in front of her.
