The next day, Alexander decided to take action. He hired a private investigator to find out who was sending messages to Amelia. He needed to uncover the identity of the man who was trying to sabotage their relationship.

Meanwhile, Amelia wrestled with her doubts. She tried to focus on her work, but her thoughts kept drifting back to the conversation at the cafe. She needed to know for sure if she could trust Alexander.

Alexander’s anger boiled over. “You put Amelia at risk, Celeste. You brought this into our lives. Now I have to clean up your mess.”

Alexander and Amelia decided to confront Daniel. They met him in a secluded office space, ready to put an end to the threats.

As they walked into the office, Daniel smirked, his arms crossed. “Ah, the lovebirds. Come to defend your honor?”

“Enough with the games, Daniel,” Alexander said coldly. “We know what you’ve been doing. This ends now.”

“And why would I listen to you?” Daniel sneered. “You have no leverage over me.”

“You’re wrong,” Amelia spoke up, her voice steady. “We have everything. We have evidence of your illegal activities, and we’re prepared to go to the authorities.”

Daniel’s smirk faltered. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Try us,” Alexander said. “Leave us alone, and you might walk away from this with your reputation intact. Push us, and I’ll make sure you rot in prison.”

For a tense moment, silence hung in the air. Then Daniel cursed under his breath, his face contorting with rage. “Fine. But this isn’t over.”

He stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
