what is she doing here mother! you can't have her here! She's she's ughh..
what was his mother thinking. A human standing in the future alphas room. What would the pack think.
A human, yes aleki, in ou territory. What do you think we should do with her? Look, you're father and I thought it was time you started making some of the decisions. You'll take charge in seven days, the pack must know they can trust your intuition. Rely on you as alpha. So what shall we do with her?
Aleki was startled. What was he supposed to do with this girl. He knew that she couldn't stay here, but they couldn't just allow her to return to her village either. The humans would come back with hunters, they would never leave them be. What else was there though, was he to have them kill this tiny little thing. She couldn't be more than 15, standing almost 2 feet shorter than his mother with an extremely slender build and sharp brown eyes. What would his parents do, what did they and the rest of the pack expect from him. He knew what they expected, but how could he do it. He had to think of something, and quick. Something that would terrify her so much that she would never return.
"the hunt" he blurted
the words came to him quickly, the hunt.... why had he said that. Did he really want to be the one to do this. How could he kill such a fragile being, but before he could take it back a smile bloomed on his mother's face.
it's perfect son, I don't think I could have found a better solution myself. How better to display your skills to the pack then to put her in the hunt. They'll see that you are capable of making the right decisions to keep the pack safe and that you're willing to get your own hands dirty to do so. You're father will be so proud when I give him the news.
With that his mother left the room dragging the poor girl behind her. How could he be so stupid. Had they ever used a human for the hunt before? The idea was so cruel. That girl, she was terrified, probably just wanted to return to her family an he had offered her up on a platter. How could he hunt her down like a wild animal? But he had to right? If she escaped he would be refused his place. No alpha had ever not caught their prey during the hunt. It's how they showed the pack they could provide for them. why had he even said it. The word had just come to him and slipped out before he had a chance to stop it. How could he do it though. Aleki changed into some running shorts and running shoes. He needed to clear his head, think things through and the only way to do that was with a run. He would give anything to let buhma take control as they passed through the trees and jumped over streams, but he couldn't just drop all responsibility, besides he couldn't miss class if he wanted to graduate before the alpha ceremony. As he made his way to the common areas in the pack house he heard her. The betas daughter, Aleki didn't hate her but he definitely didn't want to be stuck in a room with her. The girl was always giggling and flirting with him. He knew she expected to be his mate, the whole pack expected it. Their mothers had been best friends, they had a double wedding, and even became pregnant within a month of each other. The whole pack thought that Aleki and zeilla were destined. Except him of course. Just before he opened the door he heard her shoes gliding across the floor, her high piched voice calling his name.
" Aleki, may I walk with you?"
and there went any chance of a run.
