Blurb

Jaxon Callanah, a cheerful and mischievous 19-year-old teenager, whose school antics with his friends. Jaxon-a bright-eyed, who lives for laughs, late bike rides, and getting into just enough trouble with his friends Ryder, James, Edward, and Paul. They're the kind of boys teachers brace themselves for each morning-loud, messy, and full of life.

But after one prank, Jaxon's fun comes to a halt when he's forced to sit beside Avery Collins-class genius, teacher's favorite, and everything he's not. At first, it feels like torture. But something shifts. Between awkward study sessions and quiet afternoons, Jaxon starts to notice Avery isn't as untouchable as he thought. She's kind, a little lonely, and way more real than her perfect image lets on.

And maybe, just maybe, she sees something in him too.

What starts as punishment turns into friendship, and slowly-without either of them realizing-into something more. It's the kind of first love that creeps in gently: in shared pencils, shy glances, and conversations that linger longer than they should. Jaxon doesn't know if someone like Avery could really like someone like him. But around her, he's different. Better.

Still, life doesn't pause for young love. As dreams shift and growing up gets real, the world starts to pull them in opposite directions. They may not get a forever-but what they shared is unforgettable, its first love that is so pure, reminding us that some feelings will always endure, even as time goes on.

PROLOGUE
"Jax, bilisan mo! May pasabog tayo today!" sigaw ni Ryder habang hinihila si Jaxon papuntang science lab. "Chill ka lang, bro. It's just a little harmless fun," sagot ni Jaxon, hawak ang maliit na plastic container na puno ng... slime. Oo, slime. Green, malagkit, at medyo may amoy. Ganito sila palagi—laging may kalokohan, laging may tawanan. He was the kind of guy na kahit mapagalitan, matatawa ka pa rin. "Since you clearly have too much energy to spare, you'll be moved to the front row. Beside Avery Collins." "WHAT?!" sabay ngiti ni Ryder na tila nang-aasar. "Ayoko kay Avery," bulong ni Jaxon, as if it mattered. "Exactly," sagot ni Ma'am, with that smug smile teachers reserve for kids who think they're clever. And just like that, the punishment was set. First day seated beside Avery Collins felt like... exile. She was the school's golden girl—perfect posture, perfect grades, perfect hair. Tahimik, seryoso, at parang laging nasa honor roll. "Then maybe you should use it," sabay balik sa notes niya. Cold. So cold. Walang prank. Walang tawa. Just... silence. Tumingin si Avery, and for the first time, hindi irritation 'yung nakita niya kay Jaxon. Parang... understanding. Parang may click. A soft kind of shift. Jaxon didn't know what was happening—he just knew that around Avery, he wasn't just the class clown. He was someone else. Someone better. May pangarap. May expectations. May distance.
