Christmas came and went in a blur for Andy Ross, Izzie Drake and the rest of the Merseyside Special Murder Investigation Team. Though it was cold, there was no snow, so no picture postcard White Christmas, though a heavy frost in the morning on Christmas Day did give the city a white frosted coating. Ross's wife, Maria, was delighted with the camel coloured Cashmere coat her husband bought her, congratulating him on his ability to succumb to a mere two or three dozen hints about what she'd like under the tree. In return, Ross received a full set of DVDs, featuring the films based on his favourite horror author, Stephen King's works.
