Crazy Twin Sisters

Deep in the Eastern part of Nigeria where tall trees surrounded houses and the sun cast a golden glow unto roof tops with children playing around, lived twin sisters Chiamaka and Chimamanda. They lost their parents five years ago in a car accident, by then they were seventeen years old mourning their late parents when their relatives sold chiamaka out for marriage,they wanted to do same to chimamanda but she ran away from home for a while before coming back to stay with their cousin Chioma. After five years of them being separated, chimamanda decides to visit her sister and tell her plans to her. Chimamanda knocks at the door of her sister's matrimonial home. "Ah ah look who's here,my in-law what brings you here" Chiamaka's husband ugona said. "Are you alright? What sort of question is that. Is this not my sister's house, besides I didn't come here to banter words with you, where's my sister?" Chimamanda asked. I'm sorry my in-law please come in she's inside". Chimamanda enters and meets her sister seated on the bed. Chimamanda expected her sister to be happy seeing her after five years but Chiamaka's expression told another story. She looked frightened, like she finally met something she has been avoiding. "Sister what's wrong " Chimamanda asked her sister. Chiamaka didn't say a word she looked frightened to even speak. Chimamanda went closer to her and sat on the bed "Chi chi talk to me" Chimamanda said as she turns to look at Ugona standing by the entrance "My friend disappear from this place can't you see I'm with my sister" Chimamanda said to Ugona as he leaves quietly. Chimamanda turns back to her sister "Amaka talk to me please what's going on?"Chiamaka decided to speak "Manda, I've gone through hell in this house my husband has been punching me every single day, I don't even have a say in this marriage. His brother Abuka lives here too, he's the only one that cares about me here. Sometimes he cooks for me and makes sure my sores are treated...ple..." Chimamanda cuts in "Wait wait sister you mean that i***t, like that lizard that just left this room beats you everyday? Why you no commot am teeth for mouth?". Chiamaka begins to cry "Chimamanda please calm down if you do anything you will only make matters worse for me and you know I can't leave my matrimonial home. I can't fight my husband sister it's against our tradition and you know that". Chimamanda jumps up and says "Oh oh twine you dey fall my hand. Sis you don fall my hand,so thissculptured lizard get mind beat you him get mind touch my sister Ah!!!!! ahh!!!!! Him go collect woto woto sister, I no fit stay quiet ooo!!!" Chiamaka cuts in "Manda listen to me I'm very happy to see you don't spoil the excitement" Chimamanda respons "Twinee I get plans o na why I come" Chiamaka cuts in "Wait please speak gently I don't want my husband to hear our conversation". Chimamanda respons " To hell with the baggar lizard. Sis I'm planning to go to the city like Port Harcourt or Abuja I want to take mummy's savings that she kept for us remember, the seven hundred thousand niara" Chiamaka cuts in "But sister you know mum kept the money for both of us and if the relatives get to find out the money is gone we will be in trouble. You know they want to take it from us" Chimamanda respons" Yes I know just listen to me first, the relatives won't find out but even if they do i won't be here anymore now listen up i will travel with the money then I will start up a small business there. I will stay fortwo to three years, when everything works out, I will prepare my passport,visa and other necessary documents to travel abroad. I promise when I'm there I will work hard and send money to you until I'm well balanced financially then you come and stay with me. It's just a matter of five to ten years we won't be talking about how to get money for food okay." Chiamaka responds" I believe everything you just said I know you can do it and I'm proud of you making that decision. I will support you with three hundred thousand niara savings. I've saved for the past five years and I'm glad i can give it to you. I think that will make it one million, it's enough for you to start something of your own, don't worry about me I'll be fine." Abuka arrives. He knocks the door and enters "Oh Manda what a surprise i never knew you were coming." Chimamanda turns back to her sister "Sis take good care of yourself i will be back tomorrow for what we discussed. Abuka i was about leaving thanks for caring for her she's all I have got left." She storms out and leaves. Ugona enters immediately,walks towards chiamaka and punches her on the face"Ah ah brother what's all this na" Abuka said angerly while pulling his brother towards the door " Abuka leave me let me deal with this woman,she watched her sister disrespect me, she watched and said nothing. I will teach her a lesson today." Ugona responded Chiamaka stands up quietly and walks out. "Ugona stop this!!" Abuka said with anger " Oh she's walking out on me do you see that, she's walking away. Do you see the the kind of woman I married." Ugona responded. "Brother please she's a lady atop all this. It's not fair you're bullying her too much." Abuka said. The following morning chimamanda returns to her sister's house. "Sister" Manda calls out to her sister but Abuka comes out " Ah Chimamanda you're here, welcome please come in you came at the right time breakfast is ready." Chimamanda respons "it's fine I won't stay long." "I still insist, if you don't mind please have breakfast with us, I made it myself. Chiamaka is not strong." Chimamanda pulls Abuka aside " Listen to me I'm just respecting my sister's order by not reacting but Abuka nothing should happen to my sister. Open your ear well o i just calm down unto say na you dey take care of my sister or else i for don pai that your brother by now carry my sister commot but i just dey calm down." Abuka respons "Chimamanda I understand, will do my best to protect your sister."They both go inside to meet Ugona beating Chiamaka while she was on the ground crying silently. Chimamanda rushed in and pushed ugona,gave him a hot slap across his face and said "I don dey avoid you since but e be like say you no wan avoid me. See I go chook hand for your eye oo, you dey mad!!! Abi bomb dey your skull." "Please I'm sorry I will never do it again." Ugona yelled. She punches him on the face "Sister please don't beat my husband, please have mercy." Chiamaka pleads. "Sister dey your lane oh!! No try am oh!. As for you baggar lizard, I go freestyle you for just five years and with in those five years, make i hearsay you touch my sister again i go personally slutter your head go keep am for main market make this village know say them don match tiger tail. I just dey use one eye look my sister because the day wey she go regain her sense she go Pai you. You see this my sister just dey look na you go soon understand. Abuka carry your brother commot for this place aje!! I wan talk to my sister." Abuka helps his brother get up and takes him outside. "Chima, you shouldn't have done that the chiefs and villagers can barn you from this land for that." Chiamaka said to her sister. "Chiamaka e be like say bomb dey your head, man dey beat you here you no fit blast am bottle for head. I come stand up for you and twinnie wey I be you dey talk say chiefs and villagers do wetin, to hell with them. Abi sister you don forget who I be you dey whine me. Abeg freestyle me jor. How far give me the stuff make I zap." Chimamanda respons "Amanda please be careful besides when are you leaving?" Chiamaka asks "Twinnie I will be leaving this morning before eleven that's why I'm here." Chimamanda respons. "Wow so fast seems you're really serious about this. I will miss you sooo much, after five years of being separated we haven't even spent twenty- four hours together, now you are leaving again God knows how many years you will be away." Chiamaka said and began to cry. "Amaka you need to be strong for us please, stop crying okay." Chimamanda respons. They give themselves a tight hug before Chiamaka hands over the three hundred thousand naira to her twin.
