Ana's POV

when Lucian left we sat there eating our pizza. I put on a movie for us, some marvel movie anyway. I went to the fridge and brought us back 2 bottles of coke. I threw one at Jake.

"has anyone told you how pretty amazing you are" he looked at me at sweet smile.

"Lucian tells me almost everyday" I told the truth because he does, if not every day.

"he seems scary, but in your hands what a big puppy dog" we both laughed at that. I'm glad he was comfortable

"you'll get use to him, he takes great care of people he loves dearly, so, welcome to the club" I wiggled my eyebrows at him.

"what did yous call each other? mates?" he raised an eyebrow at me

"yeah, mates...you probably have one out there somewhere" I took the last bite of my pizza, I was stuffed.

"how do you know that?" he asked puzzled

"we all have a destined mate, choosen by our moon goddess, majority of us come across ours by 18 - 20 years of age, sometimes even younger" I sat back in my seat patting my full stomach. Jake was still eating. he ate like a horse I tell ya.

"what do you mean destined? how can someone be destined to be with someone? sounds nonsense" he took another bite of his pizza

"it does doesn't it, but it's just how we were created...your alpha and Luna lead the pack, when one finds their destined mate, they are much more stronger, strong leaders, strong pack, but if you don't find your mate, you can pick one" I shrugged my shoulders.

"there's heaps more to learn, but they'll teach back at the pack" he looked at me nodding his head with a mouthful of food.

"so, what's your place in the pack?" he stared at me putting his pizza down

my eyes lit up.

"I am your queen" I said acting all high and mighty making us both laugh

"no but I'm serious, I'm meant to be some queen and do all this stuff I don't know about yet, I've learnt a few things watch this" I closed my eyes and focused on tickling Jake. in no time he was laughing historically.

"okay okay stop stop" he was almost in tears from laughing

after catching his breath he sat back down on the couch

"that's some pretty awesome stuff" he was still panting and breathing hard making me chuckle

"we are a pretty awesome kind kid" I winked at him

"do you think I'll have one?" he looked at me with so much....hope?

"should we try and find out?" I wiggled my eyes at him and he nodded hard in agreeance.

It was silent, but then i heard whimpering, we went deep into Jake's memories and thoughts. the same thing I did with Amanda. I went past all that, and saw a small pup hiding in a corner.

all of a sudden it was like I was isis, well I was but not in the human realm.

I wagged my tail and tilted my head to him, he looked up and bowed his head. this poor pup. I stalked towards him and he crept closer into his corner whimpering. I bowed my head and waited. I stayed there till I felt him sniffing me, my eyes diverted up to him and he was wagging his small tail. he was a small black pup with white socks, isis towered over him. he started to lick my face. I'm not sure how long I sat with him, comforting him. but I'm sure time went past fast. after a while of running and playing I scooched the pup towards Jake's memories and thoughts, and nodded. the pup hid under me so I lead him through, I found one of Jake's saddest memories. he would have been around 10? he dreamt of coming home to a pup for his birthday but there was never one. this sad memory will now be a happy one. I'll keep the pup until he's old enough to discover Jake's mind on his own. I pushed the pup towards that specific memory and he wagged his tail upon seeing Jake. they collided with one another, and I knew from that moment, Jake's senses would kick in. his canine senses.

isis crept back to the back of my mind and I opened my eyes. Jake's eyes opened, with a tear falling from his eye.

"I think we found what we were looking for" I wiped my eyes and he crushed me in a hug making me gasp

"I don't know what you did, but my heart feels......lighter" he took a sigh. that's when we realized Lucian and mario standing there with raised eyebrows.

"what's going on here?" Lucian asked looking confused

"I just found his pup, he's adorable" I piped up and Lucian smiled broadly looking out the window into the clouds

"how are you feeling?" Lucian looked at Jake and and narrowed his eyes down to him.

"your senses would be higher than usual within the next few hours, let us know if you have trouble okay? we were born n raised this way, as you've had to learn at 15, but we are here all the way" Lucian held his shoulder and Jake nodded and looked at Mario

"oh, the names Mario, friend of your mom" he put his hand out for Jake to shake and he took it

"hey man nice to meet you" they shook hands and Mario's head went back to his phone.

"we've got a fee things to sort out tomorrow Jake so maybe hit the hay?" Lucian suggested to Jake and Jake agreed

"hell yeah man I'm tired, so where do I sleep? I'm good with the couch?" he pointed to the couch and I was just about appoint the guestroom before Lucian spoke

"this way" he led Jake to the door under the stairway, I noticed it but always thought it was just a cupboard or something. this was a hallway door. a small hallway but still a hallway.

"I've always wanted to use this room but never got around to it" he punched a code in the door and swung it open. Lucian walked in and switched on the lights and our mouths dropped open. my head snapped to him in surprise

"I didn't even know this was here" I gasped out

"you've only been here a day and bit love" he grinned at me.

Jake walked around the room in awe

a queen-sized bed in the middle of the room, 2 gaming machines and also a car driving game, like the type in a. arcade place. a huge TV on the wall with the most beasty sound system. this was the definition of a man cave.

"I can't accept this" he narrowed his eyes to the floor

"you don't have a choice, get a good night's sleep, your bathroom is just out there too" Lucian swung his arm around me

"night Jake" I called out and called back

"night sis!" I smiled at that. the door closed on its own, and I looked at Lucian in fear cause he didn't have the pin

"it's okay, I switched off the pin, he can come n go as he pleases" he kissed my forehead and led me back upstairs to our room.

"what did you see when you through his mind? was Ashley in there?" he asked me puzzled

"she was but only faintly, I pulled her forward though" I nodded at him and he smiled and kissed me softly.

"you amazing my little wolf" he kissed my lips with so much passion and my phone rang breaking our moment. I pulled it out of my pocket and looked at the screen. it was my dad. it had been almost a month since I saw him. nothing until now.

"it's pretty late to be calling right?" I looked at Lucian with a raised eye brow

"could be important" he shrugged. I looked at the screen and clicked answer.

"hello?"

"Ana? it's dad"

I rolled my eyes, I already knew that.

"how are things? how are you?" I heard his woman say something while he hushed her.

"what's going on dad? get to the point" there was a reason why he would call, especially this late

he sighed loudly and spoke

"Ana, I need your help" I sat silently looking at Lucian who had a raised eyebrow. but there it was. I knew he wasn't ringing just to ask how I was.

"can we not discuss this over the phone? I can come to you this week and we can talk" I didn't know what to think. was he in trouble?

"I'm not in Detroit anymore dad, I'm in the city with Lucian" the city was central to everywhere so he was just a couple hours away

"that's great I'll come tomorrow!" he chimed

"ummm maybe not tomorrow dad, I'm busy, day after?" what could he possibly need MY help with

"that's fine I'll see you then, thank you Ana and goodnight"

"yeah night" I hung up and threw the phone on the bed letting out a breath I had been holding onto.

"what do you think he wants" Lucian asked while removing his dress shirt, revealing his rock hard build. f**k he was hot, he caught me staring and smirked but didn't say anything.

I lost focus for a bit then snapped back to reality
