chapter 18

lucians POV

I always knew this kid looked familiar when they hired him almost a year ago. he must've lied on his application cause I'm sure it read that he was 18. he damn sure looked like it.but the kid was a werewolf so what gives. but his name wasn't Jake Steele? but Jake stele...I face palmed myself internally. how stupid could I have been. he was good at his job though that's for sure.

seeing that mother fucker again brought back all my rage. Jake's mother was a member of our pack, she was loved by everyone because of her soft nature.

Clark was a f*****g rogue whom she fell head over heels for. she hadn't even found her mate. she begged us to let him stay amongst our pack, and we couldnt refuse her, they stayed at the edge of the territory keeping distant from members that low key didnt agree..he was nice to her in the start but after falling pregnant, he turned into a down right ass hole. after Jake was born, he started beating her, we all took turns beating the s**t out of him but he kept up his f****d up behavior. controlling her. beating her. after Jake's 5th birthday we hadn't heard from her for weeks. so we all went over there.

he told us she had left, but we knew otherwise. Ashley doesn't just get up and leave. that's not the type she was. he even tried to hide his healing knuckles making me loose my s**t. I shifted right there with my paws to his neck demanding answers and he laughed and laughed and laughed.

I almost killed him that night if it wasn't for Mario. I wish he had been there with us when we took Jake there. he was banished off our packlands, he was told to leave Jake but after leaving him there to what I hoped he'd rot, he stole Jake and left never for us to find them. but who would have thought, he was here right under our noses. I needed to let my parents know. I'll kill that mother fucker next time and clark knew it.

as we were pulling into my buildings parking lot, I looked over at Ana who was sleeping. I spent most my day with her so thought to lay her in bed and do the rest at home. I jumped out and opened the back door, giving Jake a shake

"dude, get up...I'll carry my mate in but definitely not you" I chuckled at him. he woke up and yawned then looked around.

"where are we?" he was looking around frantic

"home...but this is the parking lot, cmon" I lifted Ana into my arms and told him to leave his stuff that someone would grab it. he was stumped and didn't say a word just followed. do I tell this kid tonight? maybe in the morning.

we got to the elevator and his eyes widened.

"it's been years since I been in one of these" he was excited and it made me chuckle.

"well now you'll use this every day cause it's the only way out" I laughed when his jaw dropped. I could see Ashley in him.

"thanks for taking me in, just let me know when you need to leave okay?" the door dinged open into our home. I heard him laugh

"I see what you mean by only way out" he laughed again and looked around in amazement.

"you think this is amazing, you wanna see her home" I pointed my head at sleeping beauty in my arms

"I'll be back, make yourself at home"

I walked towards the stairs when he went straight to the kitchen.

I heard him call out on my way out

"wow real milk!" I stopped in my tracks to cringe. this poor kid. don't worry Ashley he's back with us now. rest peacefully. I spoke in my head. till I heard something else as I laid Ana on our new bed.

another time, I promise, sleep dear mate

she whimpered and went back to where ever she came from. my little wolf was amazing.

I walked back down to Jake. he was standing in my lounge staring at the photos on my wall of my closest friends

his mother amongst them. I heard him panting and he turned to me.

"how do you know her?" he pointed at his mom and my eyes widened. does he remember her? I turned back to him and he handed me a photo of Ashley. I laughed at it cause I was the one who took this particular photo. she was like an older sister to most of us.

"I know her very well, I also know you" I nodded at him hoping he wouldn't over react. he took a deep breath

"I knew something was up when you saw my dad" he looked around and took a seat.

"my dad wasn't like most dad's, he never said one nice word about my mother, just that she was a tramp that left us" his words angered me and it took everything in me not to flip out.

"your father is a liar" my words were dark. but he didn't budge, or get scared thankfully

"well you tell me, what was my mom like?" he smiled at me, and I saw Ashley.

"I see her. in you" I nodded at him and tears brimmed his eyes

"she was like an older sister to all of us, I want to ask you something, has your dad told you anything about....our kind?" I tilted my head at him, I didn't want him freaking out

"your kind?" he raised an eyebrow

"no, no OUR kind" I pointed between the 2 of us.

"ummm now I'm lost" he looked at me sideways...I took a deep breath, this was gonna be a long night, and work would have to wait.

"ever stare at the moon and feel like it's calling you?" I stood up from my seat and walked to my lounge bar to pour a drink. the lord knows I need it.

"yeah I do actually, every full moon, I'll sit on the roof and stare at it, all night" he was stunned. I smiled inwardly and turned to him.

"there's a reason for that" I placed the lid back on the brandy bottle.

"I wanna show you something, but whatever you do, don't freak out okay?" I reassured him that I wouldn't hurt him. he agreed like an excited kid. I rolled my eyes at him

"it's fine show me, what is your a mafia?? no no like the godfather??" I laughed at his opinions. I started to undress

"wow, wow, what ya doing dude" he had backed up into the couch looking around for help. making me chuckle

"dream on lover boy, I'll be back" I walked behind the kitchen wall to shift. this is the reason why I wanted my home huge, for this purpose, ya never know when you need to shift. my bones started cracking and I could head him yell WHAT THE f**k WAS THAT...after a few moments I walked into the lounge on all fours and stood up straight looking down on him. he wasn't scared thankfully.

"holy s**t" I heard him mumble

"awesome" i heard him mumble again.

all of sudden Ana came running down the stairs and stopped at the end, letting out a deep sigh.

"fucksakes Lucian, I felt you shift through the bond and thought something bad happened" she walked towards us and engulfing Blake's fur.

"hello dearest Blake, meet Jake" Blake nuzzled his spout into her neck making Ana giggle.

"well, I see you know what we are now" she smiled still patting Blake's soft fur making him purr.

"I'm one too apparently" Jake whispered as he gazed at the giant werewolf in the middle of the lounge. Ana looked at me puzzled and mind linked me.

I haven't gotten to that part yet love, I'll shift back.

she nodded at me and went back to shift, I came back around and sat Ana on my lap. Jake took the seat across from us.

I sighed and rubbed my head

"it's okay lucian" Ana cupped my face calming me instantly.

she held my hand and nodded at me.

"your mom didn't abandon you Jake. she was killed" he froze mumbling something but we couldn't hear. tears brimmed his eyes and he stood up with his hands on his hips pacing.

"you sure man?? cause my dad said.." I cut him off.

"like I said before you father is liar and a murderer" his head snapped to me

"after you turned 5, your mother went missing, your dad told us she took off, but we all knew he was beating her, he f*****g killed Ashley" i gritted through my teeth, my eyes black with rage, not a lie in sight. Jake was frozen still. and I think scared?

ana rubbed my chest to calm me down. I'm sure I heard her say calm down beast or something.

"I'm sorry Jake" I really was sorry for him. he just looked at the ground in sorrow.

"we found her body a year later about 100yards from our packlands, we swore that if we ever found you, we would bring you back, we promised Ashley that...we searched the whole world for you Jake. but we didn't even bother to look right under our noses. I'm sorry we took so long dude" he looked up and smiled at us.

"that all can't be true, cause I'm none of that, I have no big muscles like all the men in those photos" he was doubting himself

"you won't gain a wolf till your around 16 - 18 till then you will train, you either have the choice to stay here with Ana n I, or go home to where your mother lays, in our packlands" I felt proud to know we had him back. we did it Ashley. Ashley loved her son, more than life, all of us knew this.

"can I stay here? I'll be good I promise, I'll work to pay my dues..." Ana cut him off

"work? your going to that chef school and cooking for me for the rest of your life" she stated matter of factly and we all busted out in laughter.

"school and train is what I expect of you, money isn't an issue, not for us nor for you, now here" I threw the tablet at him

"order us something on there, it'll be delivered not long after you order" I stood up to walk out

"Lucian" Jake stood up to face me

"thank you" he nodded and I knew there was a deeper meaning

"don't mention it, your mother would haunt my ass for ever, so thank Ana" I nodded towards her and he ran to her engulfing her in a hug

"thanks sis" he smiled at her

"no worries little bro" she patted his head and walked to kitchen to start making her a coffee

I smiled at the both of them, they've formed a bond and I'm thankful for it. Ashley would be so happy. a tear slipped my eye on the way up the stairs thinking of it. my little wolf is bloody amazing. but for now I needed to deal with that fucker clark. I gave Mario a quick call

he hung up no doubt to zoom straight here. I changed my clothes and walked down stairs. Jake just walked back with the food.

"I have an urgent meeting my love, I'll be back in a bit" I held my arms out to her

"I did kind of steal your day" she swung in my arms

"you can steal the day any day" I kissed her forehead and walked to the elevator

"later gator" Jake yelled out making me laugh, it was nice to see this plain old pent house lively.

I got down to the parking lot and Mario was already there seething.

"don't f*****g start, do you know how hard it is to hold back on that prick, especially in front of the kid" we both got in the car and zoomed off back to this mother fuckers house.

"he has the f*****g nerve" I heard mario mumble. it's a shame they were never mated to one another, they got along so well. we pulled up to the house and booted his door in.

clark looked like he was packing to leave town again. not this time

I grabbed the scruff of his neck

"I told you I'd be back mother fucker, didn't think so soon?" I kneed his nuts making him coil over and roll on the ground.

"ring the packhouse, let them know I'm sending home a fragile package" I stared at Clark still in pain on the floor.

"you'll return to our home, and live your rotten days out there, or death, it's up to you really....but what you did to Ashley's boy, I will make sure that you live every day of your pathetic life with the same I'll treatment" I spat at him while Mario jabbed him with some wolfsbane. I looked at him like wtf

"just incase" mario shrugged and I rolled my eyes as clark slowly started to get disoriented.

Mario passed me the phone

"your dad" he quickly said

"I've sent someone to pick up your package, what is it?" he sound concerned

"more like who is it" I stated matter of factly

my dad gasped

"you've found him haven't you? you've found him?" my dad was praising the moon goddess

"I did dad, with his father, I'm sending clark back to you, but Jake wants to stay here with me and Ana"

dad was silent.

he sighed "okay son, but take care of him, hell need to come back eventually for formalities" I rolled my eyes.

"yeah sure dad, take care of this chump for me, he's been abusing the kid for years" I heard my father swear

"mother fucker! stay well my son" he says and I hear my mom

"I love you son" she chimed

"I love you too mom" i hung up the phone and went back to mario. he was having fun teasing clark.

"your son will be greater than you'll ever be" he taunted clark

"IM MORE THAN WHAT THAT LITTLE SHUT WILL EVER BE" clark screamed at his face and Mario looked back at me

"he's nuts, listen how he speaks on his own kid" mario was gobsmacked.

I looked down at clark who could barely move.

"how much did you load him up with?" I raised an eyebrow at Mario

"I dunno, enough till I got bored" he shrugged and I chuckled

"someone will be here for you soon, don't go anywhere" me and Mario laughed on our way out knowing full well he wasn't fit to move for atleast 12 hours. blue moon pack was only 4 hours away. he would be there a long time.

we closed the door and walked to the car. we both looked at each other and looked to the moon and let out a big howl. for Ashley
