When I got to the back of the diner I gave the order slip to Mac and Annie came over to me looking concerned “what’s the matter Sofia?” I was still breathing heavy and didn’t even know where to start, “I don’t know Ann, those guys at my table one of them i don’t know how to explain it, I’ve never felt that with anyone before.” “Felt what?” She asked “when I looked into his eyes I felt like there was no one else in the room except him and me, he took my breathe away” she just looked at me and smiled. “What?” I asked her “sof do u believe in love at first sight?” I just looked at her and laughed “there’s no such thing Ann” she told me there is such a thing as love at first sight and soulmates she told about how she met her husband vince and how it was love at first sight and he is her soulmate, “he is the other half of my soul and I’m the other half of his” I looked at her and the way she spoke about him I could tell what she was saying was true. “But I’m not that lucky to find someone like that Ann, happily ever after isn’t in my cards and besides I’ve sworn off men forever” “you know they say true love comes when you least expect it! anyway which one is it?” “The one with his back to us with the black hair” she looked over then back at me and said “Reid? Reid stone! oh he is lovely you should at least get to know him before you right him off sof, honestly I would never let anyone hurt you and I’ve known Reid and his family my whole life they are good people my vince works for them and is best friends with Reid’s father” “I don’t know Ann, plus I don’t even know if he likes me.” “I’m sure he felt the same as you, why wouldn’t he your gorgeous stop doubting yourself.” “It doesn’t matter anyway I’m not asking him out and I’m sure he won’t waste his time on me, I mean look at him he’s a god and I’m sure he has his pick of women why would he bother with me?” She just looked at me smiled and said “well I wouldn’t be surprised if he asks for your number before they leave” I just scoffed at her “I doubt it” I said, then Mac came to the window and said “orders up sof” I thanked Him quickly made their drinks and took them over to the table, when I was done taking the last plate of food to the table I put the check down and as I was about to walk away someone reached out and grabbed my hand there were little sparks like they just gave me an electric shock, I jumped a little and turned around to see Reid’s hand in mine I looked up to his face and he was giving me the most breathtaking smile. I instantly went red and smiled shyly back “is there something else I can get you?” I asked “could I have some ranch dip please Sofia?” He asked and I swear I nearly melted into a puddle his deep husky voice did things to my body and the way he said my name god I must look like a hot mess right now. “Sure thing” I said but I didn’t move and he still hadn’t let go of my hand it made me feel warm and those little sparks were travelling up my arm, I wonder if he could feel it too? I eventually pulled my hand away and walked behind the counter made a bowl of ranch dip and took it over to him. I put it down on the table in front of him and said “is there anything else I can get you sir?” “No, thank you and please call me Reid” “ok, if that’s all I’ll leave you to your meal Reid, enjoy!!” After they were finished with their meals Reid can over to the counter to pay. “So I’ve not seen you around here before, have you just moved to the area?” “Yeah 3 months ago actually” he looked at me as if he was thinking about something then said “is it just you? Or did u move with your family?” I told him I moved with my 3 kids and his face looked like I just told him I was a serial killer and I was gonna kill him and his whole family.
