Tom and Daniel

Tom and Daniel were best friends who lived in a small town in the countryside. They were both passionate about playing football, and would often practice together after school. One day, they were walking back home from football practice when they saw a poster announcing a race for kids in their town. The race was open to all kids aged between 10 and 15 years old, and the winner would receive a trophy and a cash prize. Tom and Daniel were excited about the race and decided to participate. They started training every day, running around their town and gradually increasing their speed and endurance. They were sure they would win the race. On the day of the race, everything was set. There were 20 other kids participating in the race, and all of them looked fast and determined. Tom and Daniel were confident, but also nervous. They knew this was going to be a tough competition. As soon as the whistle blew, Tom and Daniel started running, along with the other kids. They were all running at a fast pace, their legs moving as if they were in a frenzy. Tom and Daniel were in the lead, but not for long. Soon, a few kids passed them, and they were left behind. They kept running, but as the finish line approached, they realized that they were among the last few kids in the race. Tom and Daniel were devastated. As they reached the finish line, they saw the winners holding their trophies and the cash prize. They felt bad, and wondered where they went wrong.
