The Dragon Queen

Nina grew up with the expectation that she would take over her father's empire at eighteen. She was sheltered away beyond the gates of the kingdom protecting her from what lerks far beyond their walls. Nina mother died during childbirth leaving her father a mess, her father vowed to guard and shield Nina from anything that risked her life for she was his only daughter, his only heir to the empire and the last thing that linked him to his beloved mate, Megan. Now as Nina was coming of age it was a new beginning for everyone, Nina, her father, and her future as she needed was her one and only mate. "Nina?" Hearing a gentle knock on her door she slipped off her queen-sized bed fit for a future Queen with nothing but the finest silk sheets, blankets and pillows her father could request. Her room was rather large with deep purple walls and golden trim matching well with her white fireplace with her favorite books lining the top her, the crimson colored sofa facing it for when she wanted to read at night, the fire lit the area just enough. She opened the door seeing her maid, Jasmine grinning as widely as she could as Nina slid off to the side motioning her in with her hand. Jasmine did as she was requested making her way into her room stopping in the center of the room. "I've come baring great news my lady." Nina was slightly taken aback by her maid's excitement. "And that is what?" Nina arched her brow, she had not heard anything from her father being it was rather early in the afternoon. "Your father is going to host a ball, in your honor." Jasmine squealed with joy looking at Nina. "A ball? For what exactly?" Nina was still rather confused on what Jasmine was implying, a ball in her honor she didn't understand why? Her father barely let other kingdoms come here in fear they would see her, now he's hosting a ball. "He's doing it in honor of you being of age, you're nearing your eighteenth birthday he's going to invite all kingdoms across the country in hopes.." "In hopes I get my mate!" Nina cut off Jasmine now understanding her excitement, she too started squealing thinking of this ball. "When is this ball?!" Nina had suddenly stopped her squealing grabbing Jasmine hands. "It's tonight my lady" "Tonight?!" Nina exclaimed she instantly let go of Jasmine hands and started running to the bathroom to get ready. Nina stripped from her slik night gown as she waited for the water to turn to her desired temperature she looked at herself in the mirror thinking how she wanted everything. Her jet black hair laid flat on her back as it barely touched the top of her hips, her large round green eyes fit her dark full eyelashes, light freckles littered across her nose and upper cheeks, her narrow waist make her curves more noticeable when she would walk without meaning to, her long legs were thick from muscles from years of training with her father's watchful eye. She reached her hand into her overhead rain-shower, feeling the warmth of the shower she stepped in letting last night slumber rinse from her skin. She stood under her shower washing her body relaxing as a loud knock startled her. "Yes?" "Nina, the dress designer is here along with makeup." Jasmine explained through the door, with that Nina finished her shower quickly, stepping out her in home spa wrapping herself with a blue towel as she wrapped her hair in a matching towel. She opened her bathroom door to see two mid aged ladies talking, one of the mid aged ladies, looked at Nina as she entered her room. "Lady Nina" Both bowed respectfully to her, Nina only nodded smiling back. "My name is Ms. Beck and this is my twin sister Ms. Nancy" Ms. Beck was fair skinned with a natural pink cheeks, she dressed in a nude pink modest dress, that was three inches off the ground. Her dark brown eyes almost hard to tell where her pupils started and ended, her brown hair came mid way to her back and was braided with a green ribbon holding it in place. Ms. Nancy had the same matching eyes, hair and skin tone only her dress was purple lighter than her own room walls, same length, her hair was also braided but with a red ribbon in place. Nina simply nodded as the twin sisters motioned for her to sit at her white and gold vanity, Nina sat down still in her towel as she let the sisters get to work. Removing her hair from the towel and brushing it to its fullest length, both sisters looked at each other then nodded, they started doing braids underneath and set it off to the side as the sisters worked Nina noticed a dress that instantly caught her eye, she already picked it would be that one.
