ALPHA BLAIZE’S POV
Meredith was busy massaging my foot when a guard announced to me the presence of Eowyn in the palace. I was shocked to hear that, and so was Meredith. I'm very sure she left the palace the last four days that she showed up, so how come she returned again after my order?
“What are you going to do with that b***h? I just hate to see her around…don't forget she betrayed your trust and so she doesn't deserve the title of a Luna…” Meredith snapped. With her facial expression I knew she wasn't happy, and what she just said about betrayal was true—it was Eowyn's family who threw me into the well and she left me to die there.
There was no way I'd leave Meredith who saved me from dying in the well and get married to her. Even though we are mates, she doesn't deserve the throne. She can be a concubine if she insists on staying in the palace.
“Are you not going to say anything?” Meredith chopped me out of my thoughts. I licked my lips. “I'm actually thinking of what to do with her—” I replied to her, not knowing whether that was true or not.
“There's nothing to think about, just kick her out of the palace or you will lose your authority as the king and might even be dethroned and deposed. She is a calamity to begin with—” Meredith narrated, so desperate to see me take action. But the thing is, how will I stop seeing those kids when asleep? This is a secret that I've been hiding from her.
Meredith has the right to dethrone me through her father, and I knew talking about the nightmares I've been having since Eowyn showed up will piss her off. I keep having dreams of being inside the well many years ago, and a ladder pushed into the well but I still couldn't see the face of the person who pushed the ladder. And then those kids that have the same looks like me, they keep crawling on my body all night—reminding me that the throne belongs to their mother and I am their father.
Truth be told, I've loved Eowyn from the beginning, but I never knew she would betray me and let me die in there. For that reason, she can never be my Luna.
I stood on my feet and made my way out of my living chamber. Losing the throne is not what I wish for or I'll face death again, because the throne is the only place sustaining my life. Reaching to the room where a maid had directed me she was with her kids, i saw just the kids in there as they laid on the floor, facing the rooftop.
My presence wasn't noticed, and so I didn't call for their attention. Why would I when I've not fully accepted being their father?
I walked out of the room to meet the maid. “She isn't in there…”
“I just found out that she's in the kitchen.” She bowed to me and I headed to the kitchen immediately. Just when i reached the doorpost, i met her stepping out causing our eyes to meet each other. Our past memories come flashing back, how we met and how long we've gone before she betrayed me.
“How dare you step your feet back to this palace? I ordered you never to return again—you have no place to stay in this palace.'' I shrieked at her, but she smiled when there was nothing funny. She hasn't changed a bit.
She tapped my cheek. “It's very nice seeing you standing before me.”
“Eowyn…..”
“I knew it, you sent her to come and spill away the meal I prepared for your kids…but that means nothing.” she whispered and then came closer to me. “I'm back for what belongs to me, and this time i'm not leaving only if you'll kill me.” she added in a remarkable manner and walked past me.
My feet stiffened on the floor as I recalled the statements she made, until I saw the mess in the kitchen. If Meredith will be against Eowyn, she must let my kids leave—besides she hasn't given me a single child.
I turned to one of the maids to clean up the kitchen and then the chef to prepare another meal for the kids. “Make sure no one steps in while you're preparing it, not even my Luna.” I ordered the chef before leaving the kitchen.
Going back to my chamber was what I couldn't do any longer. I needed to go stay with those kids for a while, but I know how difficult it's going to be when I'm under the authority of Meredith, and the hatred from Eowyn. That soul can't love me any longer and I don't care—all I want is the kids.
When I reached the room where Eowyn was seated with the kids on her thighs, I barged in and carried one of them into my arms as he smiled, then I turned to Eowyn…. “You must leave this pack before tomorrow, I don't ever want to set my eyes on you.” The kid I was carrying struggled and climbed down.
“Don't tell me you have interest in them…” she asked me. I let my mouth agape for a while. “I once denied them but I accept them now, that's why you have to leave without them.”
She stood on her feet. “You either accept us or deny us, you can't take them away from me when you didnt father them…so you'll choose between the two options.” she gestured. “I forgot, accepting or denying me doesn't stop the fact that I'm back for my throne—only if you'll kill me.” she mentioned, making me dumb.
“I have nothing to do with you, all i need are the kids so you can go to hell for all i care.'' I screeched at her. I cant keep being cool when she betrayed me and wanted me dead years ago, now she's claiming to be innocent, trying to reap what she did not sow.
“Don't worry, I'm here to take them with me.” I heard a masculine voice. My eyes fell on a young looking man dressed up like a warrior and also had a similar look like the kids. “She's mine and the kids belong to me, so you have no right to talk harshly at her.” the young man added.
It dawned on me that it was reality when the twins ran to his side for a hug, they mentioned him as an Alpha. How dare him step into my territory to claim what belongs to me? “Eowyn is my mate, and these kids are mine—so I have every right to do with them what I wish.” I blurted, my face chiseled.
“Point of correction, shes your rejected mate and not your mate, i already marked her and she got pregnant then conceived this twin pups for me—so i'm here to take them with me, because they are mine and you are claiming what isn't yours….” the male uttered and got hold of Eowyn's arm but i held her as well.
“She's going nowhere with those kids…'' I was angry. Jealousy already took over me, there was no way I'd watch him take away my mate and the kids claiming that they belong to him.
