Jax’s POV My head felt like someone had hit it with a hammer. Everything was dark at first. Then a weak yellow light slowly pushed through my eyes. My vision swam around like I had just gotten off a spinning ride at a cheap county fair. I groaned and tried to move. Big mistake. My arms didn’t move. My legs didn’t move either. Something tight held my wrists behind the chair. Thick rope dug into my skin. My ankles were tied to the legs of the chair too. The room smelled like dust and old concrete. One weak bulb hung above me, swinging slightly from the ceiling. I blinked hard. “Damn…” The drug in that drink still sat heavy in my blood.
