CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR Tara sat in Kim’s apartment, flicking through the channels on the television. She had vacuumed and dusted just out of boredom. She knew making the noise was a risk, but she had done it the same time the neighbours above had done theirs. It was the longest she had been still that she could remember. Normally she was on her feet for twelve hours a day. But now she had time on her hands, and it was starting to get to her. Tara knew she couldn’t stay there forever. At some point, she would have to make a break for it. Trouble was, where could she go, Canada maybe, Mexico?
