CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT Detective Lewis Coreman was new to Homicide; in fact, he was a new detective altogether. The last detective in his job had quit because of personal reasons. Coreman was ambitious and full of himself, and for some reason, the brass saw fit to promote him to detective.
