CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
Steel awoke slowly. He felt coldness on his skin. That was when he realised; he was n***d. He was bound to something cold … Something metal. He didn’t try to struggle; he could feel it would be pointless. He was bound with his arms and legs out to the sides. Everything was black, and there was a clinical smell in the room.
Above him, a bright light came on, followed by the tap, tap, tap of expensive shoes. The single light on above him revealed he was bound to a strange metallic construction, shaped into the letter ‘X’. He was upright and exposed, in more than one way. The tapping came closer until the walker stopped and he heard a whispered discussion. Suddenly all the lights came on, and there stood Williams and the black-haired woman from the boutique.
