CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
A blacked-out Bentley ‘Flying Spur’ limousine cruised down the gravel driveway which seemed to be a mile long. Tall ferns lined the way, ending in two sandstone lions on tall mounts which faced the oncoming traveller. The car pulled up to a two-hundred-year-old mansion. A relic from after the civil war, whose sandstone walls were tarnished with age, but held its magnificent appearance. Surrounding the structure was green lawns which were cut off by tall bushes and stone wall archways. Rose bushes sprung from ornate arched frames while smaller ferns sat in Grecian style plant holders.
