Chapter 21 - Last man standing
Becca's POV
"Chris. Hi! What are you doing here?" I asked opening the door after someone rang the doorbell.
"Hey. I was in the area and thought I'd check on Stella. I would have called her, but her phone seems to be out of service"
"Yeah of course come in.. she might be asleep though. I can check" I said opening the door furthermore so he can come in.
"At this hour?" He said checking his watch.
"Uhm.. yeah.. let me check. I'll be right back"
"Of course, take your time"
I knocked slightly on her door but when there was no response, I slowly opened it.
She was laying still in her bed. So still.
My heartbeat started increasing by the second.
