                It did rain, as Master Gorō said. It came down in a steady torrent and continued for many hours in the day. The window outside his sensei’s hut had a silver, rippling curtain of raindrops that poured on in a seemingly endless stream as they talked in the old man’s small and modest sitting room. They took their usual positions whenever they discussed something, on kneeling cushions that faced each other.
