Rose had always believed that the most important things in life were money, popularity, and success.

Growing up in a small town, she watched people respect those with expensive cars, beautiful houses, and fashionable clothes. She promised herself that one day she would become someone everyone admired.

As the years passed, Rose became hardworking and ambitious. She accepted every opportunity that promised quick success. She ignored family gatherings, rarely visited her aging grandmother, and slowly drifted away from her childhood friends. Whenever her mother called, she would say, "I'm busy. I'll visit another time."

But "another time" never came.

Soon, Rose got exactly what she wanted. She earned a good income, dressed in designer clothes, and her social media pages were filled with smiling photos that made her life seem perfect.

Yet every night, after the phone stopped ringing and the notifications disappeared, silence filled her apartment.

"Rose... your grandmother has been asking for you," her mother said softly. "She's very sick."
