Terry's POV

1147 Words
She’s beautiful! Her wolf is absolutely beautiful. All white with a platinum silver streak that cuts from just under her right eye, twisting so that it flows between her ears and down the right side of her flank to the tip of her tail. I don’t know who was more in shock that she shifted; the pack that was standing by watching the fight, me, or her. All of us stopped and just stared at her for a few seconds. I don’t think Angel even realized the significance of Marizta shifting, then again, I don’t think she was thinking much at all. Who would have thought that challenging the Luna in any type of fighting situation was going to end well.  As disappointed as I was by Angel’s actions, I have to follow the law and let them fight without interference from anyone in the pack, myself included. The outcome is totally on their efforts, they can't have any help from anyone. The winner will become the Luna, or continue to be the Luna, whomever the winner may be. And the loser's punishment is determined by the winner. Anything from banishment from the pack, to extra duties within the pack. If I know how Marizta thinks, and I believe I know a little bit of how her thought process works,  she doesn't want to banish Angel to leave the pack for good, effectively making her a rogue. I, on the other hand, wouldn’t even think twice about it. Of course, she’s still learning the rules of the shifter world, so Marizta may not even fully grasp how important this fight truly is. I would never forsake her and take Angel as my choice mate, but if Angel was to win this fight the pack and I would have no choice but to accept her as our Luna or leave the pack entirely. Before any of us had a chance to really think about the implications of Marizta’s unique markings and coloring, the fight was over. Angel was on the ground with Marizta’s jaw wrapped firmly around her throat. I’m pretty sure that if she had moved so much as a hair, that Marizta would have finished her without a second thought. Calmly I walked over towards them, I ordered Angel to shift. Three of my warriors walked over with me, ready to grab ahold of Angel. They calmly walked her to the cells to lock her up and await for her punishment. Kneeling down in front of my beautiful Queen, I was trying to help talk her through the process of shifting back into her human form. But before I knew it, she took off with her nose up in the air. Concerned about where she is going and what might she get into, I followed her, and I noticed that a group of people was following me as well. It didn’t take long for me to figure out what caught her attention. The sweet rotting smell of rouges was sent straight into our faces as the winds changed directions. Only, this smell also told me that these rogues are badly injured and at deaths door.  “Stop” I said very softly. Walking around a few bushes, I found the source of the smell. Seven bodies were laying behind a few of the bushes. Looking like they’ve been through a very rough fight. But that’s not what concerned me the most. While I didn’t say it out loud, one person stood out the most. He looked a lot like Jenny did a few years ago when I first met her.  The rogues weren't very recognizable. They were all badly injured, and reminded me of what Jenny looked like when I first found her. These rogues also smell simular to Jenny, telling me that they are somehow connected to each other. “Someone find Jenny and have her meet me in the media room” I said, “and I'll need a few volunteers to carry these people to the infirmary and cells. I want them under lock and key until I can find out who they are and what they’re doing here. If they’re in need of medical attention, then I need them shackled to their beds. Otherwise, they can holiday in the cells until I say differently.” I’m glad that I didn’t have to delegate the task to any one person, because my mind was very scrambled at the moment. Maritza and I spent the entire morning and the better part of the afternoon just across the lake from where we found the rogues. But then again, my warriors are very well trained and most know their job, and can anticipate what I need done without them being told. Just thinking about whom this group of people are and the implications of what it means, not just to our pack, but to Jenny the most. Had my mind going straight into overdrive and protective mode.  Word of the rogues spread fast. By the time I made it to the media room, there was already a large group waiting for us. This worked out honestly, if what the arrival of these unknown rouges, means what I believe it does, then the pack has every right to know what may be going on. It didn’t take long for Jenny to arrive at the media room after we did. As she was walking towards me, she saw Marizta rising up from her seat, and made a beeline straight for her. The force in which she hugged Marizta had them both landing on the chair, she  had just vacated together.  “I’m sorry Luna, please forgive me.” Jenny said as she tried to untangle her limbs from Marizta’s and help her get back on her feet.  “No worries Jenny, I could have done the same thing to someone else.” My beautiful queen said with concern in her eyes, and a smile playing on her lips. Wrapping my arms around them, I turned to Jenny. “It’s time for a story.” Without anything else being said, Jenny turned and told everyone gathered with us her story. Or rather I should say part of her story, because as I listened to her, tell me her story before,  now she is repeating the story to every wolf here, telling everyone how she became a member of our pack, I realized that she left a lot of information out. Not that I could blame her, I wouldn’t want everyone to know of the tortures that my former alpha did if I was in her shoes. While she did give a lot of details, she withheld a great more than she told. For now, I let her hold onto her unshared story. I just hope that her past hasn’t come to try and hurt her in any way. Unfortunately, I do believe that her past has caught up with her, and I'm not sure how she will handle what's to come.
