Terry's POV 9.5

432 Words
Listening to Jenny telling her story again, I couldn’t help but wonder at the type of alpha (and I use the term loosely) she grew up under. Even though I’ve heard her story before, it still bothers me that someone could and would a***e their title in such a way as to a***e their whole pack. Insufficient regard for another soul, regardless of their species, is something that I scarcely can’t understand. The Moon Goddess wanted her leaders to lead our packs, not look down on them and treat them as anything less than, merely due to their rank. I’m truly trying to understand how a leader, an alpha no less, believed that it was within their authority to treat another living soul with such distaste.  I can’t help but recall how dad would constantly repeatedly tell me that an alpha is only as strong as his or her pack. That you need to treat everyone that you come across with the same dignity and respect you would expect to be treated with. Yes, an alpha is the highest rank within the pack, but that doesn’t mean it’s OK to treat the another being as anything less. He would go on to say; that a true alpha would always work to build his pack stronger, by lifting them up, by encouraging them to grow, by ensuring that they have what they needed to succeed. I have lived by that concept my entire life, and will continue to live by those words. It doesn’t matter that I’m an alpha, it’s my job to make sure that everyone is safe, secure, able to grow and continue to grow not only for themselves; but their children, their mates and the pack. Because without a strong pack, we have nothing. Just because I have the role and title of alpha, that doesn’t mean that I’m the biggest and baddest out there, I’m only as strong as my weakest member. With that being said, the scum, known as Jenny’s former alpha, isn’t a true alpha in my book and doesn’t deserve the title in the slightest bit. I've already spoken to the council regarding Jenny’s situation growing up, but unless or until this creature makes some moves on another pack outside of his, their hands are tied. So the waiting game started, I’ve kept my ears out for anything that he may be doing that I could take to the counsel, but he hasn’t done anything that they would get involved with. Well, let me correct myself, he hasn’t done anything yet that would compel the council get involved.
