Returning to Known Territory

Josephine’s POV “We must wake up my dear. It’s gonna be hard but you have our support,” I say as I look into Evelyn’s and Rose’s broken eyes. ‘This bond is so strange and powerful,’ Miki says as we see the two are mirrors of each other. This was an undeniable fact and you could feel it radiate within them. We couldn’t pull our attention away from them. I release my embrace around them, as I did Rose became almost translucent and wrapped around Evelyn. Melding with her and her form being absorbed into Evelyn. ‘Did that just happen...’ Miki in complete disbelief. ‘This is her mind space right?’ I respond to Miki equally as amazed by the fusion of the two in front of me. ‘There is more to these two then we can comprehend Jo,’Miki answers. I could break my gaze away from Evelyn now the only one in front to of us. “We are Ready,” Evelyn said but was two voice that came from her at the same time, Rose’s along with Evelyn’s. ‘Did two voices just...’ Miki in total disbelief. ‘Yes... this is a whole new territory.... I feel this is just the edge of the unknown it too.’ I respond to Miki. Concentrating and blinking back to a known world and familiar territories. I open my eyes to Evelyn sitting up in her bed next to me. Lorena sitting on the other side of Evelyn’s bed. The young girl took in her surroundings. I gently kept hold of her hand, rubbing my thumb across the top of her small hand. She wasn’t frightened. She looked as though she was blank. I could feel Lorena hold her breath and I caught myself doing the same thing. We didn’t know how she would react to her surroundings. I could Evelyn connect with her wolf and her relax a little more. She was all new and blank to this world that she has been thrown into. She in hails deeply taking in a everything around her. “I’m Alive,” she exhales and basks in the sun. You could see she felt dead and alive all at the same time. Evelyn turns and looks at Lorena with questioning eyes. Taking in the concerned elegant woman infront of her. “I am Lorena, it is nice to meet you,” She introduces herself. “I am the Luna of the Amber Forest Pack. If it is alright with you, we would like you to stay here for the time being,” answering more unspoken questions. “You are safe here,” ever word spoken with comfort. “Are you hungry or thrifty?” Evelyn looked as though she was doing a little systems check on herself. Then turned her gaze back to Lorena, “It is nice to meet you Luna, I am both.” She respond with a dead like voice. Emotions absent from her words but the fact that she was responding and even functioning was an amazing start. She needs to eat to recover. “Perfect, I am going to call in our pack doctor to give you a look over. Do you have any preferences in food?” Lorena asked as she went to the door for the doctor to come in. “I like breakfast foods... I am not usually picky.” She answered Lorena. Lorena smiled, “I specialize in breakfast.” Nodding, holding the door open for the doctor and exiting after he came in. Softly closing the door behind her. A gentleman in white coat stood next to the door. He had a calm and kind energy to him. His grey eyes smiled, his neat combed salt and pepper hair, and soft smile was the first things to notice of this man other then his tall height and slim build. “Hello miss Evelyn, I am doctor Gray. Is it okay if I ask you a few questions?” She looked back at him without any change from her emotional absent state. “Yes.” “Would you like me stay with you Evelyn,” I asked realizing I haven’t let go of her hand and she not mine. “Yes,” She responded. “I might need help.” “Okay miss.” Doctor Gray moves to where Lorena sat previously. “I am going to check your heart and lungs first,” he said taking out the stethoscope to start the exam. Lorena’s POV ‘The hell she must have gone though.’ Pained thoughts echoing in my mind. Here eyes were emotionless. It’s understandable but Goddess it heart breaking. I lean against the wall steadying and gathering myself again. I feel three sets of eyes look at me. I look at the stair well and my gaze is met by three very concerned men; Josh, Malika, and Luke. I shocked by the entourage but also happy to see others were just as concerned for her as I am for her. Josh broke the silence first, “is she okay?” Malika adding the dad follow up of, “did she wake up?” Luke finishing the questions, “does she need anything?” I take a breath and smile at them lovingly. “She is awake. Josephine and Doctor Gray are with her right now. I was going to make her some breakfast. Would you like to help me? It’s going to take them some time.” I said ushering them down the stairs. “We don’t want to overwhelm her.” Luke and Josh both ahead of us moving to the kitchen faster then Malika and I. He touches my elbow softly and pulls me a side. “How is she?” He whispers. “Only word I can describe her... broken,” I respond but its the expected truth of the matter. “But in her reassuring words ‘Alive’ and responsiveness.” I add before nodding to the kitchen so we can make her breakfast. The boys were pulling out the pans and some eggs, beacon, and bread. Malika and I both pause at the door seeing this... I mind link with him ‘Whats gotten into these two?’ ‘ I have not a single idea but it’s definitely different from normal. I have never seen Josh like this...’ he answered back. ‘They were up there before I was’ he added. Stunned, a single thought processed, ‘you don’t think she might be the mate of one of them.’ ‘I have no clue. I asked why they were there and they were just silent. I might be because we were the first three to discover her... but I really have no clue and I don’t think they do either,’ he responded.
