The Biker / MC Romance Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Blood on the Asphalt "In the heart of darkness, amidst crime and mortal peril, an unbreakable bond had just beenforged." The neon lights of the downtown district bled into the midnight rain, casting long, bruisedshadows across the damp concrete. In this city, justice was a luxury traded in back alleys, andsurvival belonged to those ruthless enough to take it. Tonight, the air was thick with the scent ofozone, damp earth, and impending violence. Dante Vance stood near the edge of the abandoned railway yard, his broad shoulders squaredagainst the howling wind. A heavy leather jacket clung to his frame, the dark fabric doing little toconceal the lethal tension coiled in his muscles. At twenty-two, he was the designated heir to theVance syndicate—a cold, calculating ghost in a world of wolves. They called him a bad boy, amenace, a monster in the making. But tonight, the hunters had become the hunted. A rivalfaction had ambushed his trade route, leaving his men scattered and his own side bleeding froma deep knife wound in his abdomen. Dante didn't flinch as warm blood soaked through his shirt. Pain was just noise; weakness wasfatal. He pressed his back against a rusted freight car, his breathing shallow and controlled, fingers tightening around the grip of his silenced pistol. He expected an executioner. Instead, he heard footsteps. Light, hesitant, and entirely out of place in this graveyard of iron andsin. Not far away, sheltered under the overhang of a decaying loading dock, stood Elena. She was everything this dark world despised: innocent, sheltered, and agonizingly pure. A trueprincess of a refined, high-society upbringing, she had taken a wrong turn on her way homefrom an emergency late-night shift at the community clinic, her car breaking down just blocksaway. Now, trapped in the labyrinth of the industrial sector, her wide, terrified hazel eyessearched the gloom. She clutched a medical bag to her chest like a shield, her heart hammeringwildly against her ribs. Elena was new to this brutal adult reality, her life previously untouched by the ugliness of crimeand corruption. Yet, standing frozen in the dark, she saw a shadow slump against the train car. Alow, ragged groan cut through the sound of falling rain. Instinct warred with terror. Every logical thought in her mind screamed at her to run, to lockherself inside her broken car, to pretend she saw nothing. But then she saw the dark stainspreading across the man's jacket. She saw the deadly paleness of his face under the moonlight. "Hello?" Elena called out, her voice trembling, echoing softly against the steel walls. "Is... issomeone there?" Dante’s head snapped up, his piercing, icy-blue eyes locking onto hers with terrifying intensity. Anormal man would have felt relief; Dante felt only a cold surge of paranoia. In his world, innocence was a trap, a lure used by enemies to lower a man's guard. "Get away," Dante growled, his voice a gravelly, lethal rasp that cut through the night air. "Turnaround and run, girl. Unless you want to die tonight." The harshness of his words struck Elena like a physical blow. A shiver raced down her spine, notjust from the biting cold, but from the raw, untamed danger radiating from him. He was a badboy through and through—dangerous, unyielding, and surrounded by an aura of absolutedarkness. Any sensible princess would have fled instantly. Instead, Elena took a hesitant step forward. Her eyes dropped to the dark red liquid drippingfrom his hand onto the gravel. "You're bleeding," she whispered, her voice steadying despite her racing pulse. "You're going tobleed to death if someone doesn't look at that wound." "I said leave," Dante hissed, pushing himself off the railcar, though his knees buckled slightlyunder the strain. The cold facade cracked for a fraction of a second as white-hot agony flaredthrough his side. A rival syndicate's envenomed blade had done its work; poison or infection wassetting in faster than he anticipated. Before he could pull his gun to scare her away properly, his vision blurred at the edges. The irongrip he held on consciousness shattered, and his towering frame pitched forward toward the wetasphalt. Gasps escaped Elena's lips. Throwing caution to the wind, she sprinted across the gap betweenthem, dropping her medical bag just as Dante hit the ground. Her small hands caught his heavyshoulders, cushioning his fall, though his dead weight dragged her down onto her knees in themud. "Hey! Stay with me!" Elena urged, her fingers immediately pressing against the gaping wound onhis side. The warmth of his blood shocked her, staining her pristine coat crimson. Dante’s eyes fluttered open, dark lashes framing a gaze burning with hot-blooded defiance evenin defeat. He stared up at her face, illuminated by a stray beam of moonlight—her delicatefeatures, the genuine panic and fierce determination shining in her eyes. For a mafia heiraccustomed to betrayal, backstabbing, and cold calculation, this selfless act of an innocentstranger felt completely alien. "Why... why are you helping me?" Dante breathed out, his voice slipping into a harsh whisper ashis fingers instinctively curled around her wrist, his grip surprisingly firm despite his blood loss."You don't even know who I am." "I know you're bleeding, and I'm a medic in training," Elena replied fiercely, refusing to pull herhand away. Her chin tilted up with a sudden, unexpected spark of courage that mirrored his ownstubbornness. "In this moment, it doesn't matter who you are. Life is life." Dante stared at her, the icy walls around his heart fracturing under the weight of her sincerity. The contrast between her pure, untainted soul and his blood-soaked reality was staggering, yet astrange, possessive warmth ignited deep within his chest. Footsteps echoed from the far end of the alleyway. Shouts in the dark confirmed that Dante’spursuers were closing in, sniffing for blood like wolves. "They're coming," Dante muttered, his jaw tightening as he forced himself upward, relying on adangerous mix of adrenaline and sheer willpower. But his body betrayed him, swayingdangerously. Elena didn't hesitate. She hooked her shoulder beneath his, taking his massive, heavy weight andpulling him toward the deep shadows of the loading dock, right behind a stack of wooden crates. "Hold onto me," she whispered fiercely into his ear, her heart pounding a frantic rhythm. "We'regoing to get out of this together." As the rival enforcers swept past their hiding spot with flashlights cutting through the rain, Dantepressed his back against the brick wall, pulling Elena flush against his chest to shield hercompletely from view. His breath hitched as her soft hair brushed his cheek, her scent cuttingthrough the metallic stench of blood. In the heart of darkness, amidst crime and mortal peril, an unbreakable bond had just beenforged. And as Dante looked down at the innocent girl who had just saved his life, a silent, unyielding vow formed in his mind: *She saved me. Now, she belongs to me.* To be continued in Chapter 2
