I woke up the next morning still in the theater room, but I look next to me and suddenly freaked out.

Where is Chris?

We had been watching a movie after my birthday party last night and we ended up falling asleep in eachothers arms. I wake up expecting him to still be here and ... he's no where in site.

"Ugh, what the hell? of course this would happen to me." I say out loud to myself.

I sit back down and put my fists through my hair. We didn't even kiss, all we have done is hug and hold hands but still, did he ditch me already? We spend one night together in which it doesn't end in s*x, thankfully, and I wake up alone.

Then I remembered something, the conversation between Chris and Chaz via mind link. I couldn't tell Chris that I heard that conversation, even though he didn't say anything bad... it's an invasion of privacy one that could ruin any chance I have with this boy in the future.

I sat for a moment thinking about what she just said when I heard someone familiar behind me that instantly put a smile on my face.

"Good morning my beautiful Kallie. How are you this morning ? Sorry I wasn't here when you woke up, I thought I could get back in time before you noticed I was gone."

I turned to look at Chris, when I saw ha had a tray of breakfast for me. How sweet. He was really wanting something more than friendship at this point.

I couldn't help but remember that he pointed out he wanted to lose his virginity in his mind link conversation with Chaz yesterday. Was he buttering me up so that maybe I would be the pure wolf he loses it to ? sorry buddy, but that is saved for someone else... unless....

My thoughts were interrupted "Kallie? are you okay?" Chris asked.

"Oh yes I am fine handsome. Sorry. I was just thinking if my dad caught us snuggled up in here last night or this morning? do you know ? "

Just then I heard the loudest roar -"KALLIE!!"

"Chris" I said standing and taking his hands in mine, this is very sweet and I will be right back. Let me deal with my dad really quick." and I kissed his cheek before turning to run down to my dad's office, but before I could let go Chris pulled me back in and hugged me and kissed me on the lips.

I was redder than a tomato if that is even possible, I pulled away and smiled at him once more and ran down to see my father standing in his office.

"Hi daddy, everything okay?"

he stood looking at me. eye brow raised and his head c**ked to the side, like he was peering into my soul.

oh gosh. "Daddy?"

"Kallie, you weren't in your bedroom last night. so I went searching for you. I found you in the movie room. To my surprise you were in there with a boy. None other than Chris Hornwell. Care to explain why you 2 were sleeping together... rather next to eachother?!"

"Daddy, Chris is a very sweet guy and we went to watch a movie together after the party, I guess we got tired and fell asleep in there. I am sorry daddy."

My dad let out a deep sigh, and nodded his head. There was something he wanted to say but wouldn't.

"Okay princess, it's okay. Just please save yourself for your mate."

"That is the plan daddy, but how do you know Chris is not my mate?" trying to get him to say what he wanted to say without directly asking him.

He looked at me for a moment, trying to figure out how to tell me what it was he so desperately wanted to tell me. Then he took a deep breath and said "Kallie, where do you think you got your powers from?"

I was stunned. " But.... Dr. Fritati said that they came from our ancestors and that all of the desendants powers were suppressed until the chosen one was born... I don't understand..."

"Kallie, that is the truth, however because our powers were suppressed means just that. We have them but they are not able to be used, that is until you were born. Not everyone on my side of the family was born with them, but I apparently was. I can tell certain things. I am not meant to be as powerful as you though."

I was shocked. I looked at him for a moment thinking about what he just said "So you are telling me you know for a fact that Chris is not my mate?"

"Kallie, yes that is what I am saying sweet heart. I am surprised you couldn't tell yourself honestly. I guess you are still young and hopeful at this point. I know Chris is a good guy, but that doesn't mean that he has to be your mate. You can still date until you find your mate afterall."

I let out a big sigh and nodded my head. Could my dad be wrong about this though? I pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind and went to find Chris.

When I got back the the movie room he was sitting there alone still and had turned on the movie 'The Notebook'.. Cheesy but sweet I will admit.

"Hey baby, everything okay? "he asked

"Baby huh? " I smiled.

"sorry is that okay ?"

"Sure Chris, that is fine. I want to talk to you about something though."

"sure Beautiful what is it?"

We spent the next couple of hours just talking about my powers and what I knew Some of them were. I told him his wolves name and my wolves name. I went over what my dad said and, I was also honest with him about the mind link conversation I overheard with him and Chaz.

" You heard all that?!"

I scrunched my face and nodded "yeah, I did. I am sorry though, I truly didn't mean to hear that at all."

"It's okay. I mean I am not mad and I won't lie that I would like to lose my virginity before I graduate high-school, but that doesn't mean that just because your dad, and your wolf..." he looks at me to see my reaction before continuing, when he sees I'm okay he continues, "say that we are not mates, to me, I feel like maybe we could be still. Maybe it's because I think you are beautiful and it's wishful thinking or maybe it is more than that. only time will tell and I am will to wait and see if I feel that between us when I finally turn 18. Hoping we make it that long Since that's about 6 months til then." he says and smiles at me then places a Kiss on my forehead. He looks me in the eyes, with those gorgeous eyes of his just peering into my soul...

Obviously you are getting feelings for him. I am going to bud out for the time being and see where this goes. I wish you only the best Kallie, if you need me... I am always with you... Please protect yourself at all costs..

and with those final words I felt Kristy go deep into the back of my mind, what happened next was a very passionate... very sloppy tongue kiss that felt like my face was being licked smooth off.

"Oh, my... " I said and looked at him in the eyes. " Thank you for breakfast Chris, I smiled at him and went to my bedroom to sort out my thoughts ... and wash my face. yuck.

I cut her off before she could finish. Okay now I am clean I am going to go down and find my sister first and find out about her and Chaz.

Mitzy where are you sister ?

KALLIE?! Are you okay? I am in the library.

I severed the link and made my way to the library. I passed Chris on the way and he asked me if everything was okay with us, I told him yes and I would mind link him so we could talk.

I walked into the library and as I made my way over to my sister, I saw Chaz leaving trying to straighten up his shirt and belt. He didn't see me so I decided to hide behind one of the shelves of books, as I did his phone rang.

"Hey baby, How is work? "

s**t I am suppose to work today. noted. I will go there after I talk to my sister and then Chris and I can walk to work together and talk about things. It works.

"Alyssa, what are you talking about?! No I am not cheating on you! Why would you...."

He was on the phone with Alyssa and apparently she was told that Chaz was cheating on her. I wonder who told her and if they told her who it was with.... wait ! CHEATING?! F**K!!

I decided to come out from the shelving and confront him, Since It appeared Alyssa hung up on him.

"Hey there stranger. How's it going ?" he said as he saw me coming towards him.

I grabbed him by the front of his shirt and pushed him into one of the shelves.

"Don't act all friendly to me. I just overheard your conversation with Alyssa

Tell me do you call all of your friends baby or just the ones you are mated to?!"

The look on his face was priceless.

"What all did you hear Kallie?" he said hesitantly

"enough." was all I said.

" Look we aren't mates okay ? we can't be. we are only 17. I have been wanting to leave Alyssa she is crazy and controlling and... "

"Sweet and not to mention gorgeous?" I stopped him.

He rolled his eyes at me. "She's not how she seems Kallie."

"Yeah okay whatever. All I know is if you end up hurting her and my sister is the reason I will be sure to make your life a living hell for bringing drama into our lives ! "

"Understood. Now if you don't mind letting go of me so I can go speak to Alyssa about this, I would appreciate it."

I had forgotten I had pinned him to the shelving and others were starting to stare. "Oh. okay, yeah my bad. bye Cody."

I would have to keep my eyes on this and perhaps find out more about Alyssa. Right now I needed my sister.

"Hey!!" I said and ran to her.

"Wheres the fire?" she said

"okay sure, what's up little sister?"

I told her about what my dad had said, and about Kristy coming to me and what she had also said about me and Chris and her and Leo. To say she was shocked is an understatement.

"So you have your wolf? And wait you had your first kiss and it was terrible?!" she said smacking her forehead.

"okay not exactly the point here but yes."

"Wait dad has powers?!" she screamed

"sh! don't scream so d**n loud! " I said

"Okay first things first, if your wolf says Chase isn't your mate and dad said it to, what makes you think they are wrong?"

"Well we are both young ya know? too young to know if we are mates or not. Maybe they are thrown off by that."

"or maybe you are wishful thinking. Kallie I know you want him to be the one right now, but he's the first guy that you have dated, If you can call it that right now and I think your heart or head is getting ahead of the other. Just take your time. Okay? Rican was my mate and look what he did. Now I am just hoping to be blessed with a second chance ."

"Okay sister I understand." I said a little disappointed that she wasn't on my side.

"I need to go find Chase and get to work. I will see you later!, oh and Mitzy, be careful with Chaz, he's not your mate!"

Before she could say another word I went off to find Chris. To my surprise He was waiting right outside the library for me to finish with my sister.

"Hey beautiful." He said with a smile and kissed the top of my head.

"Hey you! " I said and gave him a side hug. "Can we talk on the way to work?"

"Yeah of course Kallie." He said and held out his hand to me. I took it without hesitation. I felt like I was on top of the world with this strong tall gorgeous man. I am only 5'1" so he towers over me but I love it!

Chris and I talked the 30 minutes it took to get to work and we agreed to take things slow, if either felt that they wanted to talk to someone else or date another we would be upfront and let the other know.

We worked for our 5 hours at the hospital and when we finally finished our shift it was dinner time.

"Hey beautiful," he said when he saw me walking out of the hospital "do you want to have dinner with me?"

"Chris Hornwell, are you asking me on a date?" I said smiling and blushing.

"Yes Kallie, I am. I want to get to know you better. " He smiled and looked at me hoping I would say yes.

I smiled and nodded "Let me change really quick first okay ?"

"sure thing, I am going to do the same. I'll pick you up in an hour?"

"Sounds perfect see you soon" I said and gave him a peck on the cheek.

I got home ran to my room and took a quick shower and got changed into a short fitted black dress and heals, I curled my hair and put on some light make up. I checked the time. 5 minutes to spare. Perfect. I sprayed myself with my favorite body spray and headed down the stairs to meet Chase. On the way down, I saw my dad "Where are you going princess?" he said while looked at me concerned.

"Chris asked me on a date. So we are going out to dinner." I said cautiously.

"*sigh* oh okay Kallie, be careful okay? love you, have fun."

hmmm that was .... odd and easier than I thought. Okay not going to question or dwell, time to go meet my s**y date.

When I got to the front of the pack house, I saw a big lifted truck, with the most handsome man standing next to it. Chris. I smiled and probably had hearts in my eyes. literally.

"Hello beautiful." He said smiling at me and holding the door open for me to get into the truck.

"Hi baby! " I said giving him a big hug and a deep kiss on the lips.

"Oh baby now huh?" he grinned.

"Hey don't make me take that back now mister. " I giggled.

I hopped into the truck with a little help from Chris he shut the door and got into the driver side.

"So where are we headed ? " I asked

"If I told you, It would ruin the surprise." he smiled and turned his head to the road and started driving to the front of the pack house.

CHRIS P.O.V

Man, how did I get so lucky to be on this date with Kallie Nicholas. Chaz is a dumb a** for doing what he is doing to Alyssa with Mitzy but that isn't my problem. I want a mate, and I am hoping it to be Kallie. If it's not I won't lie I will be disappointed, but it won't stop me from having fun in the mean time with her.

I pulled up to Bob's Steakhouse, I was glad she dressed how she did not knowing where we were going because this place was a white table cloth, dim romantic lighting, complete with valet parking. I was super excited to take her here, the food is amazing.

I got out to open the door for Kallie, I chose not to use the Vallet parking. I held out my arm and we walked arm in arm up the restaurant. Kallie gave me a look when I said I had a reservation to the hostess. The hostess couldn't stop eye f******g me and I won't lie, she was hot but nothing compared to Kallie.

We got to our table and the hostess gave us our menus and smiled at us and walked back to her stand.

"so a reservation huh? did you know I was going to say yes or did you have a back up in case I said no?" she raised her brow at me but I could tell she was trying to keep from giggling.

" Beautiful Kallie, I only have eyes for you. I was hoping you would say yes to coming with me. Nothing more, nothing less." I told her and grabbed her tiny hand in mine. She smiled and that smile just gave me butterflies. This is why I was thinking she was my mate, but I wouldn't know until I turned 18 and she wouldn't know until she turned 18, that is unless her powers allowed her to know sooner.

"I see, you are a Smooth talker there Chris, I don't know how I got lucky with someone like you as my first.... date? first kiss.... " she said and furrowed her brow.

"Well I hope you're kidding for one because I am the lucky one, but secondly, why did you make that face?"

she sat there for a moment and was about to say something when our waiter came over to the table. D**n, I wonder what she was thinking, I will have to make sure to get back to that once the waiter leaves.

"Hello, I am Eric, I am your waiter this evening, what can I get started for you Sir?"

"Hi Eric, " I said "I think I will have the filet mignon with roasted asparagus and a glass of water and can I also get a baked potato please? "

"yes of course sir, any appetizers?"

"Hmmm, Kallie what do you want for an appetizer babe?"

I saw her stiffen and hesitate and then she relaxed. "I think we can get the fried pickles and Jalapeño poppers for the appetizers please."

The girl knew the way to my heart, without even trying.

"Perfect and for your meal ma'am?"

"Oh yes sorry, I will have the same as this handsome man." she said pointing at me and then grabbing my hand across the table.

"Oh young love, it's beautiful. I will get this all in, oh ma'am, did you want water as well for your drink? " Eric asked.

"Oh yes please sorry. thank you so much." Kallie smiled and turned her head to me and looked me right in the eyes.

"Kallie?, what were you going to say before the waiter came over here? What has you concerned? "

" Oh, that um... well... I ... hmmm.... how do I say this. We are on a date, we have slept next to eachother and we have kissed and held hands.... what are we ? friends ? I hope that you don't do all of this with just friends. Your future mate, whoever she may be would not be happy."

I stiffened in my seat and thought about what she had said. "do you want to be my girlfriend Kallie? " I asked

She looked surprised. I was confused is that not what she was saying did I screw up by asking? S**t.
