Sarah and Bailey came running out of the lecture room.  They were both excited.  Sarah felt the happiest she had felt in a long time.  Bailey guided Sarah down one of the school's dark wooden panelled corridors, pulling her excitedly by the upper arm.  Bailey was leading Sarah to a quieter part of the school.  They turned right and stepped down a flag stone step onto an old slat stone floor, this corridor was much wider that the previous corridor.  The wall of the corridor were stone with the right wall lined by narrow arch windows.  Bailey pulled Sarah over to one of the double arch windows.  The window sill was deep enough for the girls to perch on. Sarah sat and looked out of the window onto a court yard with various fruit tree growing.  Sarah marvelled at the beauty of the court yard.  The leaves on the trees were starting to change colour it was so pretty.  Sarah felt at peace now just watching the wind playing with the leaves.   Bailey was still excited and she was omitting a kind of nervous energy as if she was about to spill all her closely guarded secrets.  "Professor Bremner is amazing isn't she?" she said excitedly "Yes," Sarah replied, "that was a very interesting class. Definitely better than Professor Blackwood." "Yea, I don't like Professor Blackwood much. He so cold and sarcastic all the time. He obviously doesn't like me," Bailey said. Sarah noted the change in Bailey's mood, she quickly brought the conversation back to todays lecture and Professor Bremer, "Professor Bremner sure is amazing. Do you think she can actually fly or was that stone just doing something to her?" Bailey lighted up a the mere mention of her name, "Oh, she can fly, well it's more bend gravity I suppose.  She's so positive all the time.  She's such a good teacher and so enthusiastic." "What about us can you believe I'm a Special too! I don't really get my gift and would far prefer to have yours though" Bailey was now deep in thought looking out the window.  Sarah watch her for a little bit before giving her a little nudge to bring her back. "Did you here me?" "Yes, sorry, I was thinking...em... I don't think my gift is more special, just more developed I think once you have learnt how to use your gift you will see it will open so many doors in our world." Sarah was about to ask Bailey to explain what she meant when their conversation was interrupted by a familiar voice.  It was that arrogant boy that she had overheard during registration. She turned towards him out of instinct and within that moment she knew she had made a mistake as she had caught his attention by moving.  He was walking with two other boys and a girl with almost white blonde hair.  Sarah say the gleam in his eye, she could tell in an instant that he was trying to impress the girl he was with and that now somehow was going to involve them. "What do we have here? Looks like crazy Bailey has found a friend and from the smell of her she's a newly turned," he sneered. The boys with the boy laughed and the girl watch on with interest. "Do you not think your family has fallen enough without make such an acquaintance Bailey? I get you're lonely being crazy and all but surely that is better than lowering yourself to that level!" he jabbed at Sarah. Bailey jumped up from the window ledge and squared up to the boy. "Shut up Matthew! Everyone knows your whole family's genome is dried up!" Bailey bit back. Mathew had no word of a come back and the girl looked considerable unimpressed.   Sarah moved away from the window.  On one hand, she was impressed with how brave Bailey was and she was very quick with her come back, but Sarah feared that the situation may quickly escalated.  "Bailey lets just go, we're late for class," Sarah said stroking her upper arm.  This seemed to calm the situation, dispersing the negative energy. The other two boys began to continue on their journey to class. "Come on Matthew," they called, "she isn't worth it." Matthew turned and walked after them taking quick strides to catch up and Sarah and Bailey walked off in the other direction, though this meant they would now have to take a longer way around making them even later to class.
