Chapter 6 A number of frustrating hours later, I lay back on the bed, still stuck in my body. Exhaustion set in, my head aching from concentrating so hard as well as the result of the bump I’d received earlier. I closed my eyes, taking slow, deep breaths as I hovered on the edge of sleep. The whirling followed by a lurch caught me by surprise, my eyes snapping open to find myself hovering beside the bed. Despite finally having achieved my goal, it was disheartening to know the only time I’d been able to take astral form was when I wasn’t trying. That was a problem I would have to work on later. For now, I had to find Lachlan. When I entered his room I found it empty. Had he been gone this entire time, or had he been returned to his room and then taken out again while I’d been asleep,
