‘You need to get out of here, find Belinda and let her know what’s happening,’ said Lachlan. ‘Her cop boyfriend can help you.’
‘I can’t leave. My body is still strapped to that bed.’ I wanted to though. I wanted to run away and never look back. To hide from my failure to do anything right. Father had been right. I was useless.
Ethereal tears slid down my cheeks, sparkling in the air around me.
Lachlan sucked in a breath. ‘You’re not useless.’
Stifling a sob, I shook my head. ‘I can’t even pick up a ball. How am I supposed to find someone I’ve never met before?’
Lachlan stiffened. ‘Damn it, Rose. I’m not asking. I’m telling. Go now, before you get drawn back to your body and ruin everything for both of us.’
