Chapter 12
With no other option presenting itself, I left Dr Wood’s office. I would continue to search as best I could, hoping I would find something to help us before I was discovered, or the promised rescue arrived.
After checking three more offices I still had nothing to show for it. Then, in the fourth office, I found something that offered a glimmer of hope.
A lab coat was slung over the back of a chair, and a handbag left sitting on the desk.
The office was clearly used by a woman, one who was around my size. The lab coat fitted perfectly when I slid it on. With it buttoned up at the front, I hoped no one would realise I wore the exercise clothes the nurse had given me that morning.
