Chapter 3 The opening of the door woke me. I jolted upright, heart pounding as the blonde nurse entered the room and placed a pile of clothes on the end of the bed. ‘Get dressed,’ she said. ‘Breakfast is in ten minutes.’ She exited the room, leaving the door open as I scrambled out of bed and moved to inspect the clothes she had left behind. I grimaced as I unfolded the bundle and found a pair of white cotton pants and a white T-shirt, along with a pair of white scuffs. It seemed Dr Frankel was no more fashion conscious than Father had been. I entered the small bathroom, used the facilities and changed into the new clothes.
