Chapter 2

"What do you want me to do?" I yelled at Bridgette for the umpteenth time since we got up. "Why are you angry?" She asked me calmly. "Why wouldn't I be angry? You know, don't tell me you don't know!" I yelled again as I slumped into my bed. "You can't keep getting angry at everything?" She interjected as she sat down beside me. "Why can't I? That is the only feeling that can make me go about my day like normal! Do you even see what I'm seeing?" I asked her as I suddenly sat up and faced her. "How is being angry all through the day normal? And you need to let things go!" She cautioned. "Oh please! Yes! As a matter of fact, that is what I only feel now," I said to her. "For how long, Leia? You can't keep doing this!" She warned. "You know how long I have wanted this, how long I have dreamt of that day! But now it's all a… all a… a…" I tried saying as I burst into tears. "He rejected you… and so what? You just need to pray to Mother goddess for a second chance! He might be more than Adams," she said, trying to encourage me. "For how long are you going to keep being angry? You can't let him make you a shadow of yourself," she added. I have always dreamt of the day I would meet my mate, be accepted and live in oneness and happiness had but the story was different. He flaunts Rose Dylan all over the pack without anyone truly knowing if she is his true mate or not. "My second half has been taken away from me and you expect me not to be angry? I want revenge, he must pay for what he did to me," I said angrily, as I remembered all that transpired that day and I felt my inside burn. "It's been five months, Leia! Five good months! He has moved on and you should do that also," she said, trying to comfort me. "Nothing said can comfort me or relieve me of all the pain and agony and agony I feel," I said to her as tears started streaming down my face. "It will be fine," she said, encouraging me. "You need to get prepared," she reminded me, to which I groaned in response. "Seriously? Do you also want to lose your job? Where will you find solace?" She said loudly. "Oh, please!" I groaned before dashing off to the bathroom to have a bath and get prepared for work, but my mind was still set on taking my revenge against Adams. "You see why I need to do something to that face," I said in disgust. "How will I forget him and move on when he is always around me?" I asked Bridgette as I forcefully looked away from the Billboard that had Adams' face on it. "What will you do?" She asked me like she was daring me. "What do you mean? What will I do?" I asked her, raising my eyebrows slightly. "Yeah! What will you do?" She asked again. "That's not for you to ask. What I will do and when I will do it is already in my heart," I said to her plainly before looking around. "But why will his face be all over our pack? Why? He doesn't belong here and if it was to congratulate him on his ascension to the throne, the first few weeks is enough," I almost yelled, if not for the cab driver's eyes, which seemed to be fixed on my face instead of on the road. "Even our pack Alpha doesn't get this recognition but the neighboring Alpha? What the hell?" I added, amused by all this. "I heard Alpha Thomas doesn't have it blessed on his face, but Alpha Adams does. You should be lucky," she said while pressing her phone. I turned to glare at her and she definitely could feel the heat. "Are you joking right now?" I asked her, beating her to say something first. "I'm sorry, it was just a silly joke!" She said. "I don't appreciate that," I said plainly as I turned to face the window. "You would someday," was her reply. I wished I had come to work earlier, it was just what I needed to get my mind off Adams as always, but there are days when the thoughts just seem to not mind where I am like yesterday. "Hello ma'am, just fill out this form, honestly and correctly, and we will get the right mate for you based on what you have written," I said for the umpteenth time since I resumed at work. "Okay but please can you keep me anonymous, I won't want my family to know I got help from Substitute Bride," she whispered. "They don't know I was rejected, I just told them I haven't found mine," she added, trying to be as discreet as possible. "If you had read the contract form, you wouldn't be worried about this. Our services are highly confidential so you don't have to worry about a thing…" I said to her, reassuring her of our services policy, "...except if someone from your family sees you here, then that's on you," I included just so she knows. We wouldn't be held liable if someone saw you walk into our department. "Why would you say that?" She asked angrily. "You just need to know the terms and conditions that apply to our services," I said to her without breaking our eye contact. "Oh my goodness! Isn't that Alpha Adams?" I heard the lady in front of me say to herself. I quickly looked up. and there he was entering our department. 'Was he also rejected?'
