He moved harder, the friction stealing my breath until he was buried deep inside me.
We both moaned, the sound raw and uncontrolled, and Lorenzo paused, chest heaving. As he breathed against my skin, my body began to shake, the overwhelming fullness sending a jolt of panic through me. My muscles tightened instinctively, contracting around him as if trying to push him away.
Instead, the tighter I clenched, the more he hardened inside me, making the pressure unbearable, almost explosive.
“Lorenzo…” I gasped, cold sweat coming out of my skin. “You need to pull out…”
His jaw tightened, His Adam’s apple bobbing as desire burned through him. He lifted one of my legs over his waist, holding me firmly. “You can take it, Serenity.”
Before I could respond, he thrust sharply, pushing fully into the deepest, most sensitive part of me.
The force of it ripped a hoarse cry from my throat. My back arched uncontrollably, my body trembling as something unfamiliar and overwhelming surged through me. It felt like I was experiencing new pleasure all over again, like being new to this again,
My body moved helplessly beneath his relentless movements. My protests dissolved into broken sounds, my voice faltering.
“Lorenzo… ah… stop…”
He loomed over me, his movements wild and unrestrained, driving into me again and again. Every thrust sent shockwaves through my body, the sound I made was unrecognizable even to me.
I tried to pull away, flailing weakly, but his grip held me firmly in place.
“You’re incredible,” he groaned. “So incredible.” His husky voice did even more to me.
His body pressed hard against mine, his strength undeniable. His skin bore scars, some faded, others fresh stretching across his chest and arms. They didn’t diminish anything, they only made him feel more dangerous, more powerful.
I couldn’t resist any longer. My hands slid over him, my arms wrapping around his neck as I pulled him closer, meeting his movements without thinking.
Heat gathered low in my body, tightening and building until it became too much. When he finally reached his limit, the intensity shattered through me, leaving me breathless.
It was overwhelming and consuming.
He kissed my collar bone and pulled out of me and laid beside me panting softly.
Sleep took me almost immediately.
*****
The sharp ring of my phone from the ground woke me up.
My eyes flew open, I bolted upright, disoriented for a second before my body reminded me of everything at once, the lingering ache between my legs pulling color to my cheeks. The memories of the night before came rushing back all at once.
I fumbled for the phone on the floor, my fingers clumsy as I silenced the alarm. It was already 4:00 a.m.
I looked by my side and didn’t find Lorenzo.
Then sounds of running water came from the bathroom. Through the fogged glass, I could make out Lorenzo’s silhouette, his broad shoulders, a body that looked sculpted rather than built. His scars only added to the dangerous magnetism he carried. What he did to my body made me shiver.
But then the flashes of last night returned too. He killed a man. A warning instinct curled in my stomach.
I needed to leave.
Whatever last night had been, it wasn’t safe. And I didn’t want to be here when he stepped out of that bathroom.
Quietly, I slid out of the tangled bed sheet, my movements slow and careful. The floor was cold beneath my feet.
I searched for my clothes, checking the chair, the floor. My top was gone, even the skirt too. They were probably still in the bathroom.
My panic eased briefly when I spotted my handbag by the bedside.
I grabbed it like my life depended on it.
Inside, my cash was still there. I counted it quickly enough. Enough to cover the night and enough to leave without looking back. I placed some on the night stand clear enough for him to see it.
I pulled open the wardrobe and grabbed the first set of clothes my hands landed on. They were far too big, clearly not meant for me, but I didn’t care.
I dressed quickly, my hands trembling
The water was still running when I slipped out of the room.
I opened the room door and breathed in relief when I found an empty hallway.
When I got outside, I barely recognized my surroundings. A few early risers glanced at me as I walked past, at my oversized shirt, the rolled sleeves, the trousers that threatened to slip off my hips.
I felt exposed and out of place.
But embarrassment was the least of my problems.
My head throbbed, I needed soup, I needed home and I needed to forget.
I hailed a cab and slid into the back seat, murmuring my address. As the car pulled away, the city blurred past the window, and despite my efforts, memories forced their way back into me, rushing to surprise Derick, finding him with Rissa, the humiliation, then Lorenzo.
I squeezed my eyes shut.
Stop thinking about it, Serenity. It was just one night. A mistake and a distraction.
I wasn’t sure if I had a job again, I didn’t deserve my kind boss and working there would keep reminding me of the person I wanted to forget. Derick.
By the time the cab dropped me home, the sky was lightening.
I paid the driver and stepped out, my legs stiff as I climbed the stairs. The door creaked as I pushed it open.
Something was wrong immediately.
The house was too quiet, our neat and tidy space was disorganized, which was unlike my dad.
Shoes were scattered near the door. The chairs were overturned. Papers lay everywhere across the table.
My heart began to pound.
“Dad?” I called, my voice echoing,
There was no answer.
I stepped further inside, my pulse increasing.
“Dad?” I tried again, louder this time.
Still nothing.
I pulled out my phone and dialled his number but he wasn’t picking up.
I tried again and it went straight to voicemail.
My hands began to shake.
He was always at home since he lost his job, why was everywhere scattered, what could be going on.
I rushed back outside, scanning the street like I might find him standing there. That was when I spotted Mrs. Carter, our elderly neighbor, watering her flowers across the road.
“Hey, Serenity,” she said warmly, then paused, her eyes moving over my clothes with surprise.
I suddenly became aware again of how I looked but it didn’t matter.
“Ma’am, please,” I said quickly, stepping closer. “Did you see my dad? Has he been around this morning?”
Her smile faded.
She set the watering can down slowly and looked at me with concern.
“Isn’t he back yet?”
