The Blank Room
Resting on the metal table laid a young woman, her frame was covered by a hospital gown, having her look like she was a corpse momentarily forgotten by the current mortician if it weren't for her chest rising up and down with air.
"We found a promising candidate, haven't we?" spoke a voice which echoed throughout the white room she resided within. The white room, held the metal table with her, in the middle of the room and the rest of the area was as white as a blank sheet of paper on all sides, but for the door which had a grayed doorknob to distinguish where the exit and entrance was.
Before long one person came in wearing a white hazmat suit, as white as the room was, but also the gloves of the suit as form fitting as latex gloves on their hands, or a second skin. their fingers glancing over the unconscious woman's frame briefly.
"Check the candidate's pulse. Check their skin coloration..." The voice on the intercom that came into the room called off different tasks and health procedures they wanted to have checked by the main physician, which was the person currently in the room with the candidate.
After a couple different checks of their candidates health, the physician in the hazmat suite turned towards one area of the room briefly and gave a short motion, before exiting the room to join their comrades once more.
Outside the Blank Room...
There stood three different scientists of varying origins, some were male and female, tall and short in stature. The one who came out of the room wearing a hazmat suite, was a woman, Lisa, who had her hair shaved near the skin, but at a finger's touch could feel the soft fuzz of hair trying to grow.
"This young woman will be traveling soon, but we need to create some precautions too." She spoke seriously, placing the hazmat helmet on a hook before removing the suit itself and joining her comrades.
"I still wonder why we chose a woman for this affair, when a man could of done just as fairly?" spoke a voice, but Lisa could tell it was Riam Corin, who always wanted to have roles split between men and women, but Lisa was not sure whether to argue it as unfair and sexist or say it was a general test and this candidate matched the qualifications best.
Riam Corin, was a tall and rather bulky gentleman, although the only real weights he ever lifted it would seem was dictionaries and encyclopedias that were rather heavy with in-depth material. He had coarse black hair, speckled with gray sporadically in his hair and beard which was slightly noticeable.
Next to Riam Corin, was his counterpart Annie Corin, she had bright green eyes, and shimmering blonde hair that hugged her heart-shaped face. She wore her doctor coat, while the other three had attire resembling suites; dark pants and a white shirt, some loose fitting, while others had it more cozily done.
The third doctor was a guy just out of being an intern, called Aaron Bark, which would irritate him usually for he had a history around that last name. He wore glasses which hid his dark eyes, and had a leaner appearance, while also being taller than Riam Corin or Annie Corin.
Lisa was quiet for a moment, before she finally spoke, "We chose to make the candidate selection as anonymous as we can, while also making this candidate be a good fit for the situation this world is in." The three other scientists nodded in unison, agreeing with the statement.
"We each were determined in what we wanted our personal choice to have; I wanted them to be calm in adversity, while Riam Corin, you wanted them to be a strong leader, Annie wanted a decisive individual, and Aaron Bark wanted them to be respectful." Lisa spoke, naming off each quality as easily as going through a list.
Pausing for a short time, Lisa gave a heavy sigh, "This was the closest candidate we could find to compromise. Lets send her to do their task, and hope we made the right move with our limited knowledge."
The others could only sigh with heavy resignation at not knowing whether they were sending a failure of a candidate, or if this was the right choice that they were not ready to make out of their own hesitation.
In the Past ~
Lisa and her teammates were testing the group of young adults before them, some were only there because of the incentive made. The incentive was a blank check, either in a form of cash, erasing the debt that may of existed for the individual, or help them in their future endeavors.
"I told you bribing them would be a stupid idea." muttered Aaron Bark, but was easily ignored by the more senior members, being the others in the group. He looked back at the different people who came, some looked like they were rather skittish, and others in tattered clothes. Few people were wearing clothes that looked simply maintained, or not like someone was from the streets before coming to the event.
Riam Corin gave a sigh, before whispering to the other three, "We were planning to split, if they asked for money right? Or were we going to have them prove themselves first by accomplishing the task?" the four scientists were not fond of the bribery, exactly, but felt stuck if they did not do it...
Normal Time ~
Looking over the different profiles of each of the previous candidates, although most were rejected, there were some like the girl in the room before them.
They were closest to what each scientist had hoped in their messenger, the person they sent away to the other societies back.
Back in the Blank Room...
The girl upon the metal table whom laid unconscious was breathing peacefully, although uncomfortable and incapable of currently waking. She had caramel skin due to extended periods of sun exposure, and her hair was sprawled all about her as Blood red, almost like a blooming rose was holding her head within it, or the blood red flower was sprouting from her very being.
She kept her eyes shut, as if asleep and softly inhaling each go.
"Candidate zero-one-one. We will send you back, Please know we are keeping an eye on the path you take on." spoke one of the doctor's through the intercom to the girl, before cutting off communications permanently.
The room was blank white still.
