Alyssa's POV
I took Mason's arm, he was going to lead me back to safety. Safety from what? I asked myself. What on earth had happened? Jayce looked at me with a look that said don't try anything. Then he turned into a wolf.
A WOLF?
He had told me they were shifters, but a part of me didn't believe him. How could I believe him? This was not my type of place. Jayce looked at me for a moment with his dark wolf eyes, then growled playfully and ran off. I was shaking, cursing and hardly able to comprehend what had just happened.
Mason tightened his grip on me and led me back up towards the castle. Something must be very wrong. We walked quickly up the gravel path, I saw flashes of fur in the distance and Mason growled.
"Keep walking," he said lowly.
