Benjamin and Jordan both entered the park where she had told them to meet her, neither of them sure of what was going to happen when they spotted her walking towards them calmly.
"Take that ring off Benjamin, if you wish to learn to control your magic you must do so without that silly ring blocking your access." Abigail demanded as soon as she knew he could hear her.
Benjamin looked at Jordan before he looked at his sister. "It may not be safe with with him here."
Jordan scoffed as he looked at him. "If you think uncontrolled wild magic is a danger to me, you are sadly mistaken Wolfboy."
"Enough, you two are not here to argue with each other. Benjamin, this is Jordan. Jordan, meet Benjamin. Now take the ring off so we can see where we stand." she said as her brother sighed before nodding.
As soon as the ring slipped off his finger they both felt the roil of his magic explode, his mind panicking as it struck out seemingly out of control. Sure enough, Jordan was able to easily able to handle the magic aimed at him. "Calm your mind Benjamin, clear your thoughts and allow it to channel the magic into a calm pool. Imagine your magic as a storm, wild and free. The waves crashing around in chaos. Use your mind to calm the storm, allowing the pool to settle and become reflective." he said calmly.
It took Benjamin several minutes to actually achieve it completely, his brow covered in sweat before he opened his eyes again and could tell he was actually on control for the first time. "Wow." was all he managed to say as his sister nodded.
"Wow indeed, unlike the Wolf in you that thrives of chaos, your magic reflects your mental and emotional state. If your thoughts and feelings are out of control, so to will your magic be. That is why so many Packs fear hybrid Witches and Warlocks, they believe if a Wolf gains access to Magic it would lead to chaos and devastation on a scale that would make the Supernatural Wars look like a walk in the Park. Truth is however, that when the two sides exist in harmony, the Wolf strengthens the Witch while the Witch lessens the total chaos of the Wolf." she explained to him. "When you get good enough, you will even be able to use Magic in Wolf form as easily as you would in this one."
Benjamin nodded as he looked at her. "Can you do that?" he asked as she smiled and transformed into her Wolf right in front of him.
Unlike others who shredded their clothing as soon as the change began, hers blended into her skin as her Wolf took over. As soon as she was on all fours she looked at her brother with a knowing look before he was lifted several feet into the air and she breathed fire at him. The display of sheer power and control was amazing to him as she changed back, never letting him drop as she stood there wearing the exact same clothing she had on before.
"It will take a few years before you can hope to achieve that level of control, the first step meditation until you can actually converse with your Wolf. When you can speak with him like he is another part of you, than you can learn to combine the two halves that make you whole."
Even Jordan was surprised by this, as there were few Wolf Witch hybrids because of the very fears she had described. "You can breathe fire?" he asked as she nodded before looking at him.
"What is your specialty?" she asked as he kicked a rock on the ground.
"Telepathy." he said almost ashamed before he looked at her.
'Just because you believe it to be weak, does not mean it is.' she said telepathically to him. "Telepathy is a great gateway into different psionic abilities that you can use to heal as well as destroy. It also doesn't mean that is where you must focus all of your attention. Elemental spells and abilities may be more difficult to master, but that does not mean impossible. Benjamin, we are going to begin testing you for what you specialize in. I want you to close your eyes and focus on your magic." she said beginning his first lesson that would tell her where to begin with them.
"Imagine sinking your entire body into those calm waters, allowing them to fill you with their power." Jordan said as Benjamin nodded before his entire body burst into flames. "I wasn't expecting a reaction like that."
Abigail nodded in agreement, however wasn't entirely surprised considering she had started a blizzard in her grandmother's kitchen when she did this same thing. It had taken two days in summer to shovel all the snow out, the kids making snowmen that lasted days as the magical snow resisted melting. Even when it was 90 degrees outside. "Well this will be entirely interesting, never would have dreamed pairing you two as a training pair. But it should help each of you with your own initial breakthrough." she said with a wicked smile before she began walking them through the rigorous training she had gone through at the Wiccan Coven.
It started out with easy spells that any witch could use no matter what their specialty was, but quickly morphed into challenges that pushed them far past what they believed their own limitations to be. The results were immediate when they pushed through, their increased magical strength and resilience paying dividends.
After only 90 minutes she made them stop, telling both of them to meet her there the morning after next at 0400. She knew it would be a time that they would be able to slip away and get back before anyone truly suspected anything.
When she awoke several hours later, she knew she was going to have a rough day without a tincture to alleviate the weariness that was developing from such a late night of strain that she had gone through. She suddenly realized why her grandmother had always been exhausted after their training, having to repeatedly show her how the spells worked and magic flowed best while casting them.
As soon as she got to the office she knew Morgan was waiting for her alone, her growl showing her displeasure about his appearance after what she had said last time. Despite her anger she motioned him into the soundproof office, closing the door behind him as he sat down in front of her desk as she walked around it.
"I know you don't want to see me at the moment, but we need to talk. If our fathers fail to have that law overturned, I will need you to testify at their trial." he told her as she took a sip from her coffee mug.
"What are they going on trial for?" she asked only slightly curious.
"Betraying the Pack and Treason." Morgan said with a straight face making her almost choke on the next sip of coffee she was taking.
"What would stop it?" she asked actually curious this time.
"Them rescinding that bullshit law they passed to make it so those of different species can't mate in our Pack." he told her as her eyes went wide in surprise.
"You would seriously execute your father if he fails to overturn that law?" she asked setting the coffee down.
"My father, your father as well as all of your brothers. The law is very clear on the fact that no hybrid may exist inside of our Pack." Morgan said as she looked at him and nodded.
"Than I only ask you allow me to remove Benjamin from the Pack before the trial begins. Name him Rogue if you must, just allow me to take him to my grandmother." she said as he nodded.
"I am hoping there will be no need for it, but knowing how stubborn the Pack Elders are, they won't lift a finger to change anything until my father is sentenced to death. I will process the paperwork for a Pack transfer for Benjamin today, he can go with you tomorrow morning when you complete your training tomorrow." Morgan said as he stood and straightened his jacket. "I will inform you in two days if you will be needed to testify." he said before he turned and walked out of the office before her Paralegal walked in.
