Abigail hadn't been in the human town for more than a few days when her brother and father happened to run into her at the grocery store, the Pack relying on it for the supplies they couldn't grow or make themselves. She had honestly hoped to avoid them entirely, knowing it would be next to impossible long term. She tried ignoring them, however they made it impossible when they came right over to her.
"Rebecca, what are you doing here?" her father Peter demanded.
She looked right at him with a smile. "My name isn't Rebecca anymore Peter, maybe you should already know that if you were half the parents you want everyone to think you are. What do you want?" she asked not caring who heard what she said as she knew a few people were looking.
He growled as he lowered his voice even further. "I am still your father and you will respect me as such." he demanded making her laugh.
"Respect you?" she asked still laughing. "I despise you and want absolutely nothing to do with your self righteous ass, or the pathetic Pack you belong to. I was forced here because your dear Alpha thinks he has half a chance to convince me to become his Luna, completely oblivious to the fact that he is extremely lucky I didn't reject him on the spot. You want respect, go grovel to those worthless people you call your Pack and demand their respect. As far as you being my father, that is a matter of biology I have absolutely no control over. Call you family, hah!" she exclaimed fully aware at least half the store was now paying attention to what she was saying. More than a couple of them belonged to the Pack as well.
"Don't make me laugh old man, because you haven't been family to me in over a decade. I haven't seen any of your pathetic faces in over 8 years and believe me, it hasn't been anywhere near long enough to forget you shipped me off to that school at 6 years old to be forgotten about." she said as her father grew furious and took a swing at her. What he hadn't counted on was her ducking under the blow and using the magic she had inherited from him and his mother to throw him back 20 feet as she picked her brother up with nothing more than her telekinetic power. "You may be ashamed of who you are, I however am not. Grandma Abigail herself taught me, as I inherited far more than just your Wolf genes father. Maybe if you actually embraced your powers instead of hiding from them you would stand half a chance against me." she finished before she threw her brother right into her father as a clerk brought their order out of the back and looked at what was happening.
"Do I need to call security?" he asked as the two men picked themselves up and glared at her.
"No, there is no need. Just a misunderstanding that got a little out of hand." Peter Stratton said before he grabbed one of the boxes and began walking past her. "If you think this is over, you are wrong dear daughter. We both know what happens if you reject your Fated Mate of you have embraced your magic." he said before walking again as her brother stopped and looked at her.
"Could you teach me?" he asked so quietly their father couldn't hear.
Abigail looked at him for a few seconds before nodding. "Brentwood Park at midnight." she whispered back to him before he quickly caught up to their father.
"Are you ok miss?" the associate asked as she smiled. "Your powers seem a little intense for a small misunderstanding."
"So you are a warlock, interesting." she said as he nodded briefly. "I am perfectly fine, thank you for the concern."
"Are you sure, I haven't felt a burst of power like that ever." he said a little jealous.
"My Grandmother is the High Priestess." she said as his eyes went wide. "My powers are a little stronger than most."
"A little, I have met her once and her small spells would leave bursts like that. I am not sure I want to know what a strong spell would be." he said holding out his hand. "Jordan Prewitt. Son of Priest Jacob, heir to the coven yada yada." he said making her laugh.
"Abigail P. Houston, granddaughter of High Priestess Abigail J Houston and heir to the Witch Throne." she said as he bumped into a display of watermelon.
"Please tell me your joking, we were never informed someone of your caliber was coming here." Jordan pleaded as she shook her head no.
"Not officially here so please keep it quiet. I don't need everyone asking for tips or tricks to gain more power." she said as he nodded.
"Can I join your training session tonight? My hearing is far sharper than any Wolf could ever dream of." he asked making her laugh and nod.
"No one else, besides, it would be good to have more than one person learning at a time." she said before she continued doing her shopping.
When she got back to the hotel she was temporarily in, Morgan was waiting for her in the lobby. She wasn't surprised to see him, as she knew he had someone in the main office to feed him that kind of information. She sighed as he stood and looked at her, her Wolf still desperate not to reject him.
"Can we talk?" he asked her politely. "It is just me, no one else."
She looked at him carefully as she nodded and walked over to the restaurant. "Private room for two please." she asked as the host nodded and began to lead her. "Are you coming or what?" she asked Morgan who quickly followed them to the private room that had an ordering system that didn't require a waiter to take their order.
"Thank you." he said as she grabbed the tablet and ordered several drinks before handing it to him.
"What is it you expect to gain from this? Unless the laws of your Pack have drastically changed since you took over, nothing will come of whatever this is." she told him bluntly as his Pack didn't allow mates of different species to Mate.
"You are my Mate, I want to make you my Luna. What is so wrong with that?" he asked her confused as she smiled.
"Oh wow, so you really don't know, do you?" she asked as he shook his head slightly. "Do you know who Abigail Houston is?" she asked.
"I know it is a name you took, other than that no." Morgan admitted.
"It honors my grandmother, Abigail Houston. High Priestess of the Witch Covens." she explained as he had a look of confusion as she held up her hand and snapped her fingers, a large flame erupting from the end of it shocking him.
Morgan finally understood as he knew she had Witch Powers, under his grandfather's laws, no member of the Pack could Mate with someone that wasn't a Werewolf. "You are a hybrid." he said clearly smelling she also had a Wolf.
"That I am, as is most of my family. I think the only one who isn't in the family is Patricia."
3 hours later Morgan kicked the door to the Pack House off its hinges, the door crashing into the wall 30 feet away as he yelled both physically and through the Pack Link. "Father, get your ass to my office NOW! Bring the entire Beta family with you!" he bellowed so powerfully that those closest to him were left cowering in fear as they felt the hatred rolling off of him before he went to the 3rd floor office.
Peter and Oscar lead the entire Beta family into his office, sure enough the only one not wearing the inhibitor ring was Patricia. "I cannot find Benjamin Alpha, he is not within my range to mind link." he said nervously as they all stood there.
"Which of the two of you is it?" Morgan demanded as she didn't see an inhibitor ring on the finger of Melissa.
"Is what Alpha?" Melissa asked him as Thomas walked in.
"The Witch, which one of the two of you is the filthy witch creating hybrids in my Pack?" he spat with such conviction and venom that their eyes went wide. Even Thomas was stunned his son knew now. "Tell me why I shouldn't force you to watch as I behead every single one of your filthy bastards in accordance with Pack Law?!"
"What is this Morgan? They have been the Beta family for generations!" Thomas demanded.
"So you are telling me you didn't know your Beta is the son of Abigail Houston, High Priestess of the Witch Covens?" he demanded as Thomas' eyes widened is surprise.
"That part, no. I didn't know. Knowing he was a Warlock, yes I did. Luckily his daughter wasn't your Mate, so we can keep this-"
"Their older daughter who appears to be the only child of his without a Wolf and Magical abilities. His younger daughter however, IS my mate and just demanded I reject her because she will not hide her powers to be welcome in this Pack. It is by yours and your father's laws that these filthy mongrels should be executed!" Morgan yelled cutting him off completely as all of them were stunned by his revelation.
Thomas collapsed into the chair he was on front of, not sure how to solve this issue. Glad that the entire office was soundproofed so well that no one else was able to hear what was happening inside. "Son, you can't do that. It would weaken the Pack to the point we would be destroyed by the Rogues and others." he managed to say.
Morgan looked at him with a deadly gleam on his eyes. "Perhaps that is what we deserve father, enforcing this law for 2 full generations while the leadership broke it themselves." he said stubbornly. "I am of half a mind to have you executed as well for tolerating and allowing it!" he yelled at his father so fiercely it made the door shake in its frame. "You don't want them executed, you have 48 hours to get the Elders to change that law than. If it isn't, all 6 of you will be executed for treason against the Pack. Either way, Oscar you had best stay the f**k away from me while I determine if you will continue being my Beta. I am supposed to be able to trust you, yet you have done nothing but lie to me our entire lives. Get the f**k out and don't let me see any of you again." he ordered them in his Alpha tone. Even his father forced to obey as they scrambled for the door.
