Chapter 1
Lyiana's POV
I wake up the way I always do- no alarm, no noise.....no one calling my name.
For a few seconds, I just lie there, staring at the ceiling.
Still. Quiet. Unbothered.
Then I blink. Today is different. It's the first day of the last year of highschool.
The thought doesn't excite me or scares me either.
It just...... sits there.
I push the covers off and sit up slowly, like there is no reason to rush. My room is exactly the way I left it-neat, untouched, controlled.
I like it that way. No surprises, no disruptions. Just....mine.
In the bathroom I go through the motions.Brush. Rinse. wash. Repeat.
When I look up, my reflection stares back at me.
Brown eyes. Calm. Distant.
Not sad. Not broken.
Just.... unaffected
I hold my own gaze longer than necessary.
Then I look away.
My closet is full.
Not in a chaotic way- just options. More than I need.
I don't think about it.
I never do.
I pick something, get dressed, and move on.
It fits right, looks right and feels right. Clean effortlessly.

Good enough.
I grab my bag and head out.
The house is quiet when I step downstairs. It always is.
No voices. No movements. No smell of breakfast waiting somewhere.
Just silence.
My footsteps echo softly against the marble floor as I walk into the kitchen, already knowing what I'll find.
The note is exactly where it always is.
"Gone for a few months. Take care of yourself."
No name. No explanation.
I read it once.
Then I fold it neatly and set it back down. Like it doesn't mean anything.
Because it doesn't.
It's normal.
She's ale like that - there, but not really there.
I don't feel anything about it.
I never do.
Outside, the air is cool, the world already moving like it already has somewhere important to be.
My car sits in the driveway, exactly where I left it.
Black. Quiet. Still.
I know it's expensive.

I just don't care.
I get in, start the engine, and pull out without thinking twice. The sound is soft, controlled. Like it doesn't need attention.
Neither do I. Senior year.
People talk about it like it's supposed to change something.
Like it matters, like I exist slightly outside of everything happening around me.
I'm halfway to the bus when I felt it.
Not a touch. Not a sound. Just.....attention. like someone is looking longer than necessary. I don't turn. I never do.
This year is supposed to mean something. I just don't know what
