Silence quickly enveloped the room as Gordon's eyes met Cherry's. She flashed him a smile that could outshine a rainbow, batting her eyelashes at him but he shot her a look of death and frowned.
Mila and I exchanged glances as Gareth woved past her, making his way towards us. “Hi, I'm Gareth. Venus's mate.” he offered Mila a hand and I watched her take it with a huge smile on her face. There was a sparkle in her eyes that revealed the excitement she was trying to bite down.
“Mila.” she responded, holding on to his hand longer than was required. Sam quickly cleared her throat, drawing both their attentions to her. With a smile broader than Mila's, she stretched a hand towards Gareth and he gracefully placed his in it.
