I gasped awake as I fought to gulp down as much air as I could. It almost felt as if I had been drowning before. My heart pounded hard against my chest and my body trembled slightly.
I slowly sat up. As I did, the sheet that had been covering up my body fell to my waist level. That was when I realized that I was shirtless. There were bandages that ran from my neck to my chest. I felt pain hit me from the slight movement.
I stared around at my surroundings. The room was unfamiliar. It was a quite spacious room, with two large windows behind me. For a moment, I was confused as to how I had gotten here. I was still searching my brain when my last events came back to me.
