The next morning, Finn dressed in his joggers and loose T-shirt, and ran to the gym. The two-mile run in the air cleared some of the unease of the day before, but when he saw Trent waiting for him on the steps outside it returned in full force.
“So, it didn’t go well with the beach brat?”
Finn huffed. “No, it didn’t.”
“What happened? Did anxiety get to ya?”
Trent flashed a look up Finn’s body, then raised his eyebrow.
“I was in working order thanks.”
“Then what happened?”
Finn shrugged. “I told him I wanted to get to know him, then tried to kiss him, but he pulled away.”
Trent bunched his lips together, then nodded slowly.
“How did you try to kiss him?”
“What do you mean how?” Finn said, then pointed at his lips. “I tried to put my lips on his, and he bolted.”
