Chapter 1
Caliban. That was the name of the man I am supposed to marry when I turn 16. Although I only met him
twice, he was all my dad talked about. I can’t deny it, he was sure attractive with blonde hair and grey
eyes, a well-built body and I think I loved him too. He was a hero in our world. A pureblood just like me.
My hair was a dark brown auburn and it reached the middle of my back. My eyes were kaleidoscopic and
many people thought it was beautiful. My mom and dad were the king and queen of the South Tidal
Empire. I am their only child and tomorrow will take place my wedding with king Caliban of the East
Tidal Empire when he was going to be my husband. I know I should be happy and excited for my own
wedding, but there is a big war going on between some bad people that are trying to get the throne of
my dad and mostly every other king especially Caliban are helping us. I don’t really know much about it,
but the one thing my father made sure to stick in my head was the description of their leader. He says
that his black hair and eyes get darker each time he kills someone which is daily and I should always be
careful. I can’t even imagine meeting such cruel person that kills people just for fun. It must be
terrifying.
Time flew by and soon it was time to prepare for the wedding. My two best friends were helping me get
dressed when Caliban suddenly comes in. The girls leave and we are all alone. He slowly walks in my
direction and I can see he has something hidden in one of his hands. As Caliban slowly opens the box I
can see the hidden present. It’s a rose-gold necklace with his name on it.
“ So I can always be with you. “, were his exact words. I can’t help but smile. He pecks me on the cheek
and then quickly leaves. I know there is still tension between the two of us since we don’t really know
each other, but I’m sure everything will turn out just fine.
The girls walk back in and they start questioning me as if I were a little child. My dress was beautiful. It
was white just as expected and it reached my knees. You could see my bare shoulders and half of my
back. The rest of my hair and face are nothing special, but the ordinary. I only rubbed a strawberry on
my lips so it would give them a little bit of color .Yes. I can say that I’m ready. Ready to marry Caliban.
Ready to have my first kiss. And ready to make my parents proud.
As I stand outside the ballroom door the music stops and everyone waits for my entrance. The guards
open the doors and every eye in the room is on me. I walk with my back straight and look straight
forward to my soon to be husband. I slowly but surely climb the stairs and soon I am faced with a very
handsome Caliban. The ceremony starts and I can feel that something is off. There are more guards
than usual inside the room and I really don’t think it’s necessary.
All of a sudden the big glass windows shader and the lights go off. I can’t see anything and my
breathing starts to become uneven. I try to run, but stumble over someone when I fell two strong arms
wrap around my waist. A cloth is put at my mouth and I try to stop breathing, but it’s impossible. My
eyes slowly shut down and I fall into a deep sleep just as my heart awakens.
